Plenty of deep characters in the show, the problem is imo that it's hard to give much of a fuck about any of them when they have so little screen time and/or could get killed at any given moment

they'll never please everyone, i like the show, and the books, the show is easy watching and even though i've read the books i do get on the edge of my seat sometimes

I actually think they are doing a very good job of pleasing virtually
everyone. I know people who couldn't get into Breaking Bad or the Wire
because they were 'too slow', but they love this.

Is it a Lord of the Rings 3 show?

Don't get me wrong I am still enjoying the hell out of the show, but it's become more of a "along for the ride" kind of thing instead of me being invested in some of the characters like I was in the first few seasons. They still do manage to find at least some way to make you sympathise with almost every main character though, which is something of an accomplishment in itself
