I feel like it's almost finished, but somethings missing...just don't know what.

Would really appreciate if you guys could help me out.

Thanks
First off, nice tune. It feels like its missing something to me too though. Peronally Id put some subtle strings or atmospheric white noise/rain sample or something just to fill out the background a bit. Apart from that though I can't complain about anything else, solid tune.

100% agree with everything said.

vaiken - I like the tune, i think what your missing is just a bit more atmosphere - i noticed straight away that the bleepy noise you have kinda fading in and out seemed to be starting and stopping quite rigidly - i would put a filter on it with some sort of delay so it extends throughout the track a bit more. aside from that its a good tune!

Retto - Really like how thats sounding, i'd have waited till you had a bit more to show before posting it but i would definitely like a 320 if theres one when thats finished it sounds like itll be sick. Maybe get the drums a bit higher in the mix but them bass groans were sounding sick!

Plainface
Good work soundwise but it got a bit loopy. think you deffo should have a changeup in the drums when the more high bassliney type bass comes in and play it off with the lower bass sound you had earlier. Maybe using more chopped up vocals in the first minute to try and give more of an impression that its building up to something. Liked the dubby bleeps and guitar stabs. sub was pretty deep n all!One thing i would definitely say is try and get a bit more natural with the drums in terms of the velocity of each of the hits, try and make it abit more random so that each hit sounds noticeably lighter or harder - not going mental, i have just found it gmakes drums a bit more easier on the ears.

peeped your song, i like the atmosphere the wobble is a bit repetitive, and not quite abrasive enough. Not sure the direction you wanted to go with it but I would personally drop the wobble as the atmosphere behind it is quite good.

If you are going to keep the wobble, i would raise the resonance of the filter a bit.

I know what you mean, i've been thinking about the bass for a bit and the more i listen to it the more i think it needs to be a bit rowdier.

Checked out your bleepy clicky track first, not my kinda thing at all but i really appreciated the production on it, the drums and all the little atmospheric bleeps were flowing perfectly. As its not my type of thing i wont comment on the tune itself as my opinion wont really mean much.

Checked your deeper tune

Same again amazing production, got your drones and atmospherics down to a tee there. I couldnt listen to it on its own i dont think just as im not that into that style much either but in a film or something itd fit really well.

Some really good production there nice one, just not that into them stylewise

Thanks for the respectful response. Another thing about the bassline in your tune, try adding a saturator , and maybe a really tight chorus on there.

Top 2 new tracks in the player http://virb.com/sativabreather

Go for Dina Saws if you like the heavy stuff and Death's Door for chilledness.

Plainface - Kinda liked this tune at first but I got a bit bored of it if I'm honest, was expecting something to happen but nothing really did. Quite like what you did with the drums at points and the bass later on is nicer than the first one you have.

Collective - Well produced but I also wouldn't listen to this sort of thing on its own, would be good as background music for something though. One thing I would say is that the snare and one of the hats you use sound a bit too...normal to fit in with the rest of the track if you see what I mean?

There must be some way of making sure that everyone leaves feedback when they post, there were shitloads of people in a row just posting links on the previous page. It's like, if no-one can be bothered then there won't be any feedback at all innit.

Had a listen to dina straws, really liked the slightly quieter throaty bass you had with the filter sweeps on it, think you should have made that more of an element to the song but the louder bit that came in little stabs after every few bars i thought sounded really amateur, not very fitting considering the rest of the tune has some pretty nice sounds in it.

know what your saying about the feedback - im trying to only leave feedback for people i can see have bothered their arse to give some themselves. think that way seems to work, the feedback police will have little work to do if everyone just sticks to doing that

Thanks for the feedback!

Gonna think about all your points and take the with me on the next session. The tune has been that way for a month now, time to finish it.

paravrais
I just listened to dina saws a few times. Like it! For me it's missing some clarity in the mix...
I felt like it kinda stepped up the pace after around 2:30, maybe it's the hihats? Anyway, that's my favourite part of it, I'd like some more of that earlier in the tune. And I'd like it a bit longer :)

MiscreanT
Listened to the ambassador. Nice tune. Gots loads of "punch". But when the bass comes in at around 1:50 it kinda takes over. Maybe it's just a matter of lowering the level on that one?

Interesting listening to other peoples tunes, not just the super polished, mastered, released tunes. Gonna try to drop in here more often in the future. Hopefully I'll be able to give some meaningful feedback at some point[/b]

I'm really liking this, but it's so short. I'd like to hear the full song...so I guess...if you haven't yet arranged the song that would be a good next step.

Easy, think I had a bad case of being too stoned to produce yesterday, that sharp distorted noise I had in Dina Saws genuinely sounded good to me *even* after you pointed it out to me XD wasn't until this morning that I realised I needed to seriously sort it out! Re-uploading as I write this so hopefully I've sorted it out now.

Vaiken did you mean my death's door tune changes after 2.30? cos the hats do speed up around them but I introduce another instrument (kinda a bass with high elements too) as well. Can't really say I thought that much was different at 2.30 in Dina Saws (second drop) than the first drop.

Miscreant - Really good work with the drums in amBassador and generally some really nice sounds in this tune. I have to say the main bassline is a bit clean sounding for my liking, even in the bits where its more in your face and got that slight rumble to it.

No, it's the Dina Saws...maybe the build up was different. Anyways, I felt like the...change of pace was more distinct the second time. I don't know, maybe I'm just talking shit, too hyped up on coffee and coca cola.

I really can't be fucked to dl wavs but if you upload your tune as an mp3 somewhere you don't have to dl to listen then i'll be happy to give feedback.

EDIT: Ah I think I might know what you mean now Vaiken, the build up is a bit different and I think I have a sample of the T-rex roar from Jurrassic Park behind the snare that hits before the drop that time as well. Couldn't decide if it was better with it or without it so left it in one of them, maybe that makes the drop better?
