i think its a fair point to discuss what & why people feel inclined to DEFINE what dubstep IS, rather than just enjoy what it is to THEM...
i think its the fundamental problem here... and with music scenes in general...
"dubstep" is always this magnificent undefinable future music, lol, until something comes along that doesnt fit in peoples molded tunnels, then its shit, or just, "not dubstep"
so caught up in what "dubstep" is, people seem to miss the point that what this IS is people and music, and its the breaking down of stupid barriers in music "genre" & culture that make music (and "dubstep in particular) the most awesome unifying force weve got.
do some of yall really not understand how SICK it is that snoop dogg, chase & status, MURS & Plastician all had something to do with this!??! (i am interested in how MURS is in this, i hope hes gonna be rappin to some tunes!!!!)
like, im just happy to see MURS gettin his even, talk about a dude whose been on the grind!!
but as if this is anything totally out of the blue or unexpected!! lol eligh from living legends put out a cd with some dubstep beats on it mixed last year... do you really think the LA underground is THAT disconnected?? and that the dubstep & bass scenes arent crawlin with mad Underground Hiphop cats? do you think that ALL "mainstream" rappers are really THAT disconnected????? yo, its all ONE music family, the quicker you realize, the more fun youll have... imho.
Snoop Dogg loves the 'step: Just see this on Twitter...
dunno y u edited, completely true
meh
guess we'll have to wait for the next few months though...I just don't really like how the tracks are laid out according to hip hop bars and all, that was a funky track regardless..I mean snoop sounds new to dubstep so I guess that's what to expect as of now
The choruses were like twice as long as the verses, majority of the track was the chorus and that'd wouldnt be bad but it wasn't even a good 1
Track had potential but maybe some rappers will jump forward that know a lil more about dubstep and we'll get some good tracks out of it
setting up some stuff with some NY people now, good can be had I'm just hoping dubstep doesn't turn into the new instrumental for hip hop..I'd like to think of it as a dubstep collab instead of hip hop heads in the industry just snatching tunes up ya know

but still who the fuck cares? It's not exactly gonna kill off dubstep because one of the biggest rappers of all time has put ONE tune on a budget mixtape.

lol its not gonna do nuffin to harm dubstep as it is. all it will do is open a door for these kind of collabs and an overlap with commercial rap fans..Diss04 wrote:Big H over "Eastern Jam" >>>>

they may back this stuff, they may not. but i cant see the majority of them suddenly rushing into the dubstep scene. its just a little alternative appeal to them and another sub segment.

I agree, doesn't really sit right. I mean I love Snoop but this ain't helping either of them to be honest.
Give me a jungle or garage beat and admit defeat.

wow 32 pages and counting.
But this track is really bad, all this bitching is pointless the producers who are doing this aren't gonna be stopped no matter what some anonomous dudes are saying on a forum.
This could be actually sweet, some rappers laying down ryhmes on some dubstep. But this track was horrible and i hope the future collabs have some quality control.
bow wow wow yippee o yippee a

Monster thread... i like the tune, i will play it out, i will make people dance.
Really like the way they got the singer back who they sampled, good movie tie in with the highest oscar winning British film since the war, its a longer edit and re-arrangement which is better than the original.
Snoop as he rubs in your face with this rhyme is one of the biggest selling rap artists of all time, you might not like his flow but i think its dope.
And he was in N.W.A, legend end of.
Big up Chase and Status
