Perfect Sense
Pretty good. About a global virus that gradually shuts down our senses one by one.
Watched this last night and thought it was really good. Not usually into films with a love story going as a main theme but the sci fi aspect of it made the story proper interesting overall.

Elevator:
Absolutely fucking terrible.
Couple of people get stuck in an elevator, among them is a 60 year old women with a bomb attached to her body, she dies of a heart attack, they have 10 minutes left before the bomb explodes and... wait for it... in order to get rid of the bomb they cut the lady's body in half with a 1cm pocket knife...
As you can probably understand, these weren't the most productive 80 minutes of my life...

Reminds me of "Devil", which is another awful elevator film. It actually angers me that I pay money to watch films as bad as that. What was I thinking?

nail on the head. the lack of brutality (yeah i know, film for the kids and all) didn't help either.

Just got back from watching this, had potential to be a great film.. the idea was good. Shame it was a 12A, not enough violence and gore with too much romantic bullshit.. based on a book though so i guess they couldn't sway too far from the original storyline. Extremely average film.

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (AKA Master Killer)
"Your skill's worthy of a general. If you want to fight, fight with me, one to one, man to man"
Sick film. 7/10

The Guard - 2011
Basically, if you liked In Bruges you should dig this too. Equal parts funny and tense, one of the better comedies I've seen for a while.

Also need to see this. I figured I should catch up on the other Alejandro González Iñárritu stuff. Saw 21 Grams a while back, may rewatch Babel.
Amores Perros last night.
Yeah it gets a bit arty and pretentious- and some weird subtitles- but there was something really gripping about it. 8.254/10

Got this on bluray for £4 or something ridiculous. Good film however i found it a bit hard to empathise with the character, which is the main point of the film.. he just has too much going on, its hard to feel sorry for him but Javier Bardem does act incredibly in it.
The Sea Inside is a much better Javier Bardem film where he plays a guy who is paralised from the neck down and wants to end his life and fights for the right to euthanasia for 30 odd years. Its based on a true story and you can sort of understand the characters pain better because i think we can all try to imagine what it would be like to be paralised from the neck down and what sort of burden we would feel on our families... whereas in Biutiful its hard to understand what its like having cancer, 2 kids with a bipolar wife and trying to get out of working in the illegal underground of barcelona.
So if you like Biutiful i highly recommend The Sea Inside.

Good ones for a date:
Vincent Gallo is pretty sweet here. So is Christina, actually.
