A friend of mine went on a mission to find the best cheap bottle of Red & White wine.
He created detailed excel graphs n all.
Found numerous bottles that were dirt cheap but tasted 10x better than very expensive bottles of wine.
The hangover however was always waaay worse on the cheap stuff.
I tasted some of the worst champagne during those weeks drinking with him.
Bitter bitter, mouth puckering champagne.

yeah same except carsberg cus i though it was like 3% but its 3.8%
still rather spend like 20p more and not drink it

Not really pretentious. It's just a matter of enjoying actually good beers. I mean I been to a brewery once that made decent beer that was basically made in a massive shed on a farm in the middle of nowhere. After the guy had given us taster pints and then showed us round and explained how he made each beer he just left us in a barn with a load of kegs and pint glasses and told us to drink as much as we want. Dude came back after a couple hours and said he wanted to go watch the rugby so we had to leave but he'd fill us up a box of beer and let us keep the pint glasses so we could continue getting pissed up on the minibus home.
Don't think any of that was pretentious. Dude just knew how to make a beer that actually had flavor and so did it rather than factory making generic chemically piss water lager does nothing but give you a worse hangover.
