if my hips upward looke large than my upper thigh...almost to the point of being proportional....what leg exercise can I do to bulk up that thigh muscle near my hip.

Ive literaLLY been avoiding legs until this week. (except cardio and elipt.)
I'm not sure what part you're trying to describe - upper anterior thigh area or the gluteus medius area?

Think the answer's just squats regardless of what it is.

 perhaps, but if he's having trouble getting that area up then there's probably something he can do to isolate it.

Heh there is, the machine.. forgot what the exercise is called. But if he's been avoiding legs like he said he did he should build a decent foundation doing compounds first before he's all isolatin' and shit :0

When in doubt, squat. >.>

Which I also always say when I'm not sure if I have to fart or poop imo

Exactly this. Fuck leg press, he needs to do squats.
Mind = blown that there are people who work out but don't incorporate squats into their routine.

Squats I can do.

I just started legs yesterday:
Squats
Presses
Extensions
Lifts
Calf Raise
Cycling

That's a fairly heavy leg routine. I don't know if there's really any benefit in you doing leg presses in addition to squats. I would try and fit lunges in there somewhere instead. I also avoid leg extensions as I don't really like isolation exercises but they can be great if you want to isolate your quads. If you're only just starting legs I would avoid isolation exercises for now though (except for calf raises).

Im not some bird legged pussy m8, ive been gyming for years. This is a pretty strict routine im sticking to.

Edit: also the sets and reps great differ depending on muscle group/isolation/etc.

Squats are 5x5 with heavy compound
Presses I do 8x8 with a low weight
others are 3x12 and 6x8

the rowing ergometer fucking sucks but I try to do it fairly regularly because it keeps me in shape for crew and everything else....I don't think it's a good idea to hop on it unless you've had some basic training as to how to use it, you'll probably do something drastic like blow out your back

fine haha dont take my advice. my mom and dad were both rowers through college and my mom rowed in the olympics. my dad blew out his back in college from overtraining, and he knew what he was doing. blowing out your back in rowing is one of the easiest injuries to get, and that's the people who actually know how to row. but be a dumbass and hop on an erg and pull all your weight with your back, see what happens
