what was your opinion on Rudd apologizing?
never thought to deeply into this, it's hard to really go about this one.

He in some ways did the right thing, and let's be honest, for what happened in the stolen generation, it's not like he can go back in time and un-do what was done, i respect him for what he did, because again, it's not like Rudd went out and did this, so to try and somewhat make it better, props to him.

but, it also brought another rush of hate towards aborigines, etc, and i guess, when you are running a country, and ideally would like to stay prime-minister, you have to really be careful about what you say/do/promise, as a whole, i'm sure his apology probably lost him a lot of votes etc, but even then, he probably could've done more than just apologise, so he was being considerate and respectful, but still did a bare minimum sort of thing to make sure he stayed appealing to potential voters, either way, in a nation like ours, it will hardly go down well.

keep in mind i was a fair bit less mature when this all went down, so my opinion has gradually changed over time.

Is anyone aware of what Julia Gillard (Current Australian PM) is trying to push?
She's going about changing Australia's nationwide public holiday, to celebrate Australia, which is called Australia Day. (i believe it's something to do with when we became a country or something, back in 1901.. mind is a bit blank.)
She wants to change the name of Australia Day to "Citizens Day" or something like that.
it really makes me wonder what kind of thoughts possess her mind, to do something that appears so stupid.. she's going to piss off the hardcore Aussies who are all rah rah rah fuck off back to your own countries blah blah blah to anyone who's migrated from another country, by changing Australia day to a day that welcomes other cultures..
that's not all that bad, because IMO, fuck them, waste people.
But, it then singles out people who do have a different cultural background, as "Un-Australians" like, are they not good enough to be called Australian? fucking idiot :u: :u: :u:
Some of the best people i've met in this world, were born in another country, one guy, a friend of mine through work, born and raised Indian man, given me more opportunity in this world, than any typical "Australian" (outside of family ofcourse).

EDIT: Second half of this post, was included in that original post that i back-paged lololol

Do they have burly anti smoking pictures on them? My favourite is the guy with the cavalier 'tache and the tumour that looks like Andre the Giant has wrapped scabby knuckles round his throat.

i like to make fun of aussies being racist, but canada has to have an equally worse history and we just cover it up like it never happened. at least most of the urban population is better integrated and get along, but it still makes me sad

dmz tunes just seem empty without being able to feel the melody

for me, the horns and lightas jumped right on top of the sub and rode it to the ears, forcing a smile on my face
