I would like to know how to play around with voice samples as Jamie x x and Burial.

Check out at 1.31

Aswell as how one can make a powerful - but not as explicitly fleshy as a WOBWOBWOB alá Borgore, a more subtle but mighty sound, an example:

I use Cubase 5 and Reason 5 mostly, I am much more experienced with reason than Cubase tho.

Thanks.

I saw this in another thread on here, and I was wondering how the sound at 1:17-1:19 is made. Sounds relatively easy to make, but could someone get me started? :D

Thanks!

How do i create this effect?

I believe it's called beat repeat when done in tempo and not really to the extreme like that. VST's like Glitch or Effectrix have that effect in 'em or you could chop up the sample manually.

I haven't used FL in a long time but you should be able to set a loop point in the sampler and automate the size of the loop so it gets smaller.

EDIT: similar synths are in gold dust with flux pavillion and pro nails remix by rusko
Also I understand this is my first post, I've been browsing these forums for a while and I will try and contribute by helping someone else in this thread or somewhere else on the forums :W:
Bump. :6:

duh, look at the title. or use collision in ableton
Nice and constructive. Its not just going to be a sample is it? Obviously a fair bit of processing. And, I don't use Ableton.

Just work on pitching things up and down an octave or two, reversing them, ghostverbing them etc

You can do this in midi, just half the note size each time to increase the speed

Same principal as kick build-ups

Looking for some tips on how to get this bass noise? I've been playing with it for a while now, but i just can't get my 'wub' noise as defined.

FM BASS, carrier sine, modulator sine +12/+17/+19(one of these three) semi-tones with a lowpass filter and envelope to amount of fm or carriers amp and envelope to lowpass

kikaruu wrote:@HiMi: You already have it. It's just a pitch-bend, but so fast and so low that the note sounds more like a collection of notes than before. Think of it as the inverse of granular synthesis. Instead taking a lot of noises and combining them at a high rate of speed, into a tone, you're taking a tone and slowing the speed (thereby, pitch) so that it becomes a lot of noises. Sort of how a chainsaw revs from guttural growls to a whine. The noise is just sped up.

So just pitch down a lot. :)

Aside, I want one of those (OP-1) pretty badly.
cheers man. that makes sense. yeah the OP-1 is dope ay.

actually I could be wrong and it could be a highly processed xylophone, but the second note defenitly sounds like a vibrophone.

Definately vibes, I noticed a preset in massive called vibes if you have massive it sounds very much like an actual vibrophone.
