why? as this country is a republic of states with no official national language, it seems we should have all kinds of languages represented, depending on the demographic. as demographics change, it would only make sense that our languages change with them. this is part of the american experiment imho

I just wish ppl in my country weren't as short sighted, everything is in Dutch, we don't want to translate for the French part because 'they don't want to learn our language' it's sooo childish. So many childish things going on in politics it's depressing and ppl used to say grow up. Wish I stayed a child forever, at least they can share and forgive (to say the least).

Because by making everything in two languages it feeds right into anti Hispanic sentiment. If everything is one language, I'd like to hang onto my unlikely notion that this would encourage people to learn English and in turn help break down the negative feelings towards immigrants....
