I listened to 3 of your tracks and I'd say that I like watson 349 the best. I agree with an earlier comment about the drums at the start of ps002, too euro dancey for me. You have pretty decent production skills but I would say that your sounds are lacking definition, it's kind of hard to tell where one sound ends and another begins and you seem to push them a little too hard (big sound is good but it does take practice to get good at it). Just keep at it, you'll only get better.

edit: suppose I could try and give some advice on how to do that

For me, I find that eq is the simplest (and probably most effective) way of separating sounds/giving sounds definition. Try cutting away at, for example; a frequency that your bass is "active" at where another sound further up the spectrum is most prominent and then cut the bass from the sound you made room for. If you try and visualise sound as a graph with an upper limit (0db) to heigh;, if two sounds are both taking up the same same space, when you run them through a limiter/compressor they will end up squashed together and the result will be a distorted sound. If however both sounds are separate you will be able to push them further as they won't be fighting for space and the sounds will have less of an effect on each other. That's the best way I can describe it atm and it works, at least for me

This is... In fact... A very simple definition, but a real effective one. It's not that hard to grasp but if you use it in your mix you'll notice it will sound 3x as good. Big up for stating this so clearly!

However... a spectrum analyzer can help you show where the sounds are at. ;)

It does but I haven't quite learnt to listen to music with my eyes yet. Spectrum analysers do have their uses, and they're really good for pinning down offending frequencies but; imo I think it's best to do most things by ear since it's way more beneficial in the long run.

I figure if I want to receive feedback it's best to give first. ;)

@Narrator - I dig the dubstep influenced house you've got going. The break around 2:15 - 2:40 disrupted the flow of the track a bit, but I did like where you went with it. Maybe re-examine that area? Overall I enjoyed it. Well done.

@PESS86 - Definitely potential in there!

Here one of my more dubstep-influenced tracks. I'm curious to hear what you all think. Any feedback is good feedback, imo.

Been suffering with a bout of depression recently, and was wondering what effect that has had upon my production paths.
Couple i've been messing about with:

ds.mp3
dubstep - basslinecrew.mp3
dubstep - eeekv2.mp3
I wasn't born into this world; I was logged in.

I'm kinda stuck in a writersblock so I invited my two friends to come over for a collab and ofcourse to have a good excuse to get mad stoned :-)

Idea was to pump out an epic dubstep track with epic vocals en strings but it didnt worked out that wel, anyways, it's not dubstep but i'm interested what you people think of it...

you need to make your tune more interesting man. i think there should be A LOT more going on, and I think the wobble bass should be deeper. I like the way your drums sound thogh, maybe tighten up the kick a little, but the snare sounds dope. nice start though!

here's a tune I've been messin' with for the past week or so, it's finally starting to come together I think. please listen and review, cheers.

I like the drum pattern a lot, also the pad, it's effective. The wobble is nice and metallic but I don't like the Detroit synth melody, maybe thats because I don't like Detroit music at all :-) It's kinda repetitive at the moment but this can be a very good track if it's finished..!
