nah its about spending beyond your means. Real and Barca spend a lot, but they have massive revenues cos they are massive clubs.

PSG and Man City have been spending way beyond revenues, which is why they are receiving sanctions.

There is a train of thought that people like Barca (Neymar tax fraud) and Man United (Glazer Debt) should be sanctioned also.

^If you're spending more than you earn you should be sanctioned imo.

^Yeah, I'm just saying I agree with it.

There should be some sort of system in place too to ensure you pay off your debts. Unless that's what the idea is behind this?

There should be some sort of system in place that allows the big clubs to stay big and basically ensure that nobody will ever be able to join their club for any sustained amount of time....

Oh wait...

You're allowed to have debts, like Arsenal, Utd, Madrid all have. They just need to be manageable based on what the clubs earn instead of just written off by some chief

I dunno man, the Qataris are loaded so how do you consider they spend "beyond their means"?
Chelsea have had megabucks for long enough that their revenue has caught up
This really. Essentially they did the same as City and PSG but started before so now they will be just fine?
Real and Barca spend a lot, but they have massive revenues cos they are massive clubs.
Yeah but again, just look at their balance, they've been accumulating massive debts over time.

The whole Rooneys leaving bullshit then he got a massive pay rise & long contract apparently all happened just weeks before United would be considered insolvent. His pay increase and longer contract meant his value went up and their assets/liabilities were a bit more balanced.

Looks like Van Gaal is the next manager, most places have stopped offering odds.. Sky Bet last night offering 1/20 for him to be next manager.

1st point - beyond the clubs means, not the owners, obviously.

2nd - yeah chelsea got lucky. Their revenue still isn't that great, the year they won the champs league inflated it for a bit. but still have a little shitbag stadium with poor gate receipts, and a poor global fanbase

3rd point - their debts are massive, but they aren't accumulating as such, not getting any bigger. Their cashflow is massive, so they could just not spend much for a couple of years and be in the black

Basically, its clear PSG and City have been the most irresponsible, inorganic and unsustainable spenders since chelsea. they are getting sanctions, its better than nothing.

It's more of an issue when the parent companies/holding groups/owners have the cash to back the club's losses regardless.

They're the 4th most supported club in the world, one place ahead of Arsenal

Mostly glory hunters yes, but they bring in revenue

We've tutned a leaf since the FFP were introduced. I think we will likely sell players in order to to buy new players. We did it with Mata and De Bruyne. Plus we will offload the deadwood players we have on loan at the moment. We have so many players on loan lol

bullshit, you say that's like it's fact - one poxy sports research company did a survey in 2012 (the year they won the champions league) and recorded those stats, which sports blogs spuriously have been quoting ever since. They reckon Chelsea have more fans than Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Liverpool put together, which is obviously nonsense

Don't think Roman would make the same mistake twice, not this quickly at least. Maybe if he doesn't win anything again next season..

If that makes the top 3 Manchester United Real Madrid and Barcelona I'd like to see the working out.

It's just Platini waving a flacid penis, they can't actually sanction them because UEFA will either get sued by psg or city that have huge judicial departments that would ruin UEFA by being dragged into court for years and lose!
or they ban them and then they just form another league along with all the other bigger clubs.

The big clubs basicly own the players because they can decide their worth in the context of a market.
