BUMPITY BUMP

and @classick just basic pitch shifting, nothing special except starting from a clean sample. but that video has some stereo effects and I think a really fast delay on it.

@jrisreal: sounds like bitcrushing/lo-fi filtering over low-passed midrange automation (triggered at note with saw/ramp attack, not lfo'd). Less than 1150Hz or so; feels like 800, but I know I'm not spot-on.

Distorted Guitar From Nero's Me and You?

Hi all...

Currently trying to create a re-make of Nero - Me and You as I find immitation is a good way to learn how some of the pro's do their techniques, I am not trying to copy Nero's style, I just admire their production skills and would like to see how they go about doing some of their stuff.

So my question is does anybody know where I could find any samples or a certain vst plugin with similar sounds to the distorted guitar lead in the track. I have tried Kontakt 4 but there are only a few distorted guitars in there and they dont sound similar to that of the Me and You track.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

They probably used a real guitar. I could record something for you if you like?

Really?

That would be great if you would mate. Thanks!

Just for future reference when looking for this sort of thing, do you happen to know where I could also find some decent distorted guitar samples?

Had a little crack at making the synth at 1.31, that saw lead that's detuned quite a bit and has a slide on it, and I got it sounding a bit like it but it was missing something. I used 2 saws with one of them being an octave higher, whacked the unisono up then the unisono pitch just abit. I then ran it through a scream filter with a high resonance and put the scream to about 2 oclock.

Can anyone help me out, i was just wondered how it sounds so "screamy"

ive been wanting to learn this technique ;hard to describe.. basically its a midrange bass that just sounds like its decreasing in intensity and "giving up" so to speak.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woA7O8Tr ... re=related 0:52 pretty bad example but i dont feel like goin extra hard to find the perfect one.. im sure the majority know what im talking about anyway

I apologize as I'm unable to listen but I am going to assume you're talking about a pitch bend, down? A slow bitch bend sounds like the synth is "dying" to me...

EDIT: Here you are:

Soundcloud

@Captain Planet: Distorted bass hits with a sharp attack and fast decay. An easy way is short samples with lots of high-end (like snares) and pair a sub bass with them. Alternatively, keep a lot of top-end in the bass and just use that; it'll sound closer to the rest of your bass as well (as in that Mortal Kombat tune). I'll see if I can make an example.

That sounds sick man! I can't get it sounding as good as your example but that's definitely it. What DAW did you make it in?

Hello all, I have a question about how some of you make glitched basslines. I have the actual bass instruments that's not the problem. So far the only thing i really understand to do is use dblue or use gross beat, but that doesnt give me the hectic yet controlled feel. Personally, and i guess this is a touchy one here, i like skrillex. i was just wondering how to get something glitchy like the bass on Kill Everybody. I understand copycatting isnt the way to really get along, but i am just trying to have a bit of a learning experience reproducing some sounds, and building my style from diff experiences. And if you do post, could you please explain in some detail, there is still a few things that i dont understand. Thanks in advance.

I have recently fallen in love with high pitched lead sounds, but I have no idea how to make them, I'm only good at making woobly filth.

I'm talking about the kind of sound in the intro of this song:

and @0:55 in this song:

sounds fucking AWESOME!
Shameless self-bump!

If no one can help me with this I'm going to leave it for a while. Hope someone can get me on the right track though ;-)
