Example Magazine has been watchin this thread for days now. and has decided its finally time to post on it. On Saturday one of our photographers was at CHIUBUKU's 9th BIRTHDAY @ NATION in Liverpool. Present at what is apparently the first time the Snoop dogg millionare track was played in a club. And contrary to what everyone on here would expect the whole club literaly erupted the room went mad and the tune was reloaded. Is Dubstep forum maybe a seperate scene of its own which is completely detached from whats actually happening in the clubs

This made got me so het up I actually registered, I normally just watch from the sidelines.

Chibuku birthday is not an accurate representation of the nights that people on this forum...people who actually "like" dubstep go to. The crowd that supposedly "went mad" were nowhere to be seen when kode 9 was on. The room would probably errupt if you played this at mood, or garlands or whatever. It's more the case that this tune is detached from the dubstep scene.

From where I was standing everyone was either too fucked to dance, covering their ears or waiting til that "sick toooon with plan b comes on" anyway.

So to say that dubstep forum is detached from the clubs is ridiculous...I can't imagine if this is played at Pace Yourself on Thursday you'd get the same reaction.

Probably my first and last ever post...just know that people in Liverpool aren't all plebs.

Bollocks. Absolute bollocks. Chibuku had a major impact on the popularity of Dubstep in this city.
The crowd that supposedly "went mad" were nowhere to be seen when kode 9 was on.
Bollocks. It emptied out a little after about 10 minutes of Kode 9, probably due to him playing Funky and people not having a clue.
The room would probably errupt if you played this at mood, or garlands or whatever.
Not a chance.

It would. Pretty much guaranteed that LOADS of people who were at Buku will be at Pace Yourself as well.
just know that people in Liverpool aren't all plebs.
So anyone who was at Buku dancing to that tune is a pleb? Great attitude.
People have a right to dance to and enjoy whatever they like, just because a person doesnt like what Kode 9 is playing and then goes nuts to Chase & Status doesnt mean they are a 'pleb'.
Get down off your high horse and pedestal and stop thinking your better than everyone else.

The main winner here will be the Indian music company, Saregama who own the copyrights to the original song "Silsila Yeh Chaahat Ka" from the film Devdas.

Haha! To be honest if that song even got played at Pace Yourself I think all of us who run the night would stop the music, beat the DJ down who played it, remove his torso from the rest body, kick everyone out the club whilst apologising sincerely to the crowd and continue to torture the DJ :)

You have been warned DJ's haha!

Chase and Status played this along with quite a few other dubstep tunes at How Sweet it Is in The World Of Drum and Bass dome this past Saturday . Massive rave, people went nuts.. apparently Snoop was actually at the party as well. The fact that they were dropping dub on that massive system for tons of raver kids was pretty cool.

the only thing that can kill dubstep is people stop listening to it because snoop dogg raps over it lol. would everyone would be happy if we still all played to ten people. maybe good for u but if u want good music the artist has to 100% into there music and that means maybe getting paid. or we can die pennyless and be remembered centuries after for our craft like van gogh.

final thought
if nothing changed in music we would be listening to monks and drums, maybe a new gerne.

no single tune will 'kill' a whole genre of music.

edit: As someone said above, people went nuts because they heard eastern jam, people tend to do that in raves when that tune drops.

Would have been the same reaction if it wasn't snoop dogg millionaire and it was just the original, so you can't take that reaction as being...'omg dubstepforum are talking shit everyone LOVES snoop dogg millionaire'.
