No its not. Even though Torres is not a regular goal scorer. He has scored/assisted some of the most important goals for us. Scored the final goal against Barcelona in 2012, also got us the corner against Bayern Munich to equalise. He also scored an important goal against city earlier on this year.

What did Carroll do at Liverpool apart from jump in the air?

Mourinho took over a 3rd place team, spent 150 Million, and turned them into a 3rd place team

:o whoa stuff of nightmares, right?

I want to say the same thing about who becomes pundits in England as I wanted to say about your national team but that backfired too much. But anyway there's a certain segment of british football which I just want to eat da poopoo, is that unfair?
Sooooooo backwards thinking.

It's relative though, £50m back then before ffp didn't mean much to Chelsea, £35m was a huge amount of money for Liverpool

In hindsight. Let's hope Costa is not going to flop as well if he comes.

Don't think Liverpool fans should ever really consider Dalglish a placeholder. He got Liverpool to two Wembley finals winning one and provided us with a much better end to 2010/11 than we had a start.

Ultimately it wasn't enough and we've done well under Rodgers

The question is not what the 50m man did for you but what 50m spent better may have. The final goal against Barca didn't count you were through anyway and now then you're listing winning a corner. We lost 18m on Carrol you'd get 10 if you're lucky for Torres.

i think its safe to say tho that when he came back it was not a long term decision.

i think liverpool have turned a corner with adopting the FSG model which has proven to be successful in other sports

It was initially only for the rest of the season then FSG announced a 3 year contract on the back of the first few months. Even if we wish to consider the first 5 months or whatever as a placeholder, I'd still refrain given his position in our clubs history, but that status changes once he's given 3 years.

I suspect FSG intended to have him only for the first 5 months and I also suspect that the reason for not sacking Hodgson earlier was that they wanted to get through the season, but the response of the players and the fans forced their hand.

We signed Aspas, Alberto, ILori last summer none of which have contributed, our loan signings have been awful and the previous summers forward signing has just played the season at Sunderland. We are still pretty shit at transfers.

Na he wasn't, he was in horrible form at Liverpool when they sold him. For his shitness to be constant surprised everybody, but to be shit to begin with didn't surprise many cause he was already in a poor bit of form.

Lol is that in $ or something? We spent closer to £100m and thats even including Zouma whos on loan. Mourinho probably spent a net amount of about £40m and turned a 3rd place team into a 3rd place team. Compared to some other teams around us, that ain't bad.
