Feels like the beat finally dropping after the world's longest build up.

My dad waited 45 years to see Birmingham win a major cup. That's some intro.

Might be waiting that long again the way things are going

lol yeah. supporters of major clubs are spoilt no doubt, can't quite imagine the feels you would get for a wait that long at a club like birmingham

I always wonder how much winning the league actually means to Utd fans any more, they see it most seasons

I'm pretty confident that if I had known Liverpool's last league title would have been our last league title I'd have celebrated it a damn site harder than I did.

Out of interest, what's everyone's take on the punching order of competitions? Would you rather a domestic league win or a Champions League win?
IMHO
Domestic League (FA Prem, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga)
Champions League
Domestic Cup
Europa League
Domestic League-Cup (Carling equivalent if it exists abroad!)
I'd take a Domestic League win over pretty much anything tbh - if you're the best over 38 games, you really are the best (it's possible to ride your luck through the knockout stages of the UCL) - and I'd put a domestic cup a shade over the Europa League because the top teams are automatically omitted from the Europa, so the run to the final is arguably easier.

I would chose the Champs league at the moment, I've seen Arsenal win the league multiple times

For me, I'd say:
Champions League (Overrated as a comp imo, but it's still the "best of the best", wish it was more cut down though)
Domestic League
Domestic Cup/Europa League (on the same level imo. Possible to get a very easy ride to the domestic cup final, not so easy for europa league, wish they got rid of the champs league teams from it though)
Domestic League Cup

Domestic League
Champions League
Europa League / FA Cup
Domestic league cup
The league is highest priority for me always, you can only really claim to be the best in Europe if you are the best in your league and you should aspire to being the best you can. Can't really decide between the Europa and the FA Cup, European cup finals are great and I think the FA cup has lost some lately.

yeah that seems like a bad idea and a step back in terms of trying to establish united as a club that defines themselves and doesn't let the outside talk decide for them. now they've just done what a much smaller club would have done - but having said that, i would've probably said the same thing about getting ancelotti at real and he has done pretty well. the squad is good enough imo

i dont think serie a or the bundesliga are anywhere near the level of the champions league at the moment.
the prem and la liga probably are though especially with athletico coming through.

You can't really make that comparison
like how is it celtic beats barcelona almost everytime they meet over two matches?
it's because there are a number of variables and history and whatnot that come into play
like real madrid has never won a match in germany until this season and so on
it's basicly only Mourinhos various teams and atletico this season that has managed to get by with that style of playing.
generally the ones playing possesion football with a high number of goals scored are the ones to get through, so that lends itself more to modern german/ classic spanish, brazilian and argentinian tradition than anything else.

Adrenaline, fired up, playing up, game of their lives
Whatever you want to call it

europa league is a second tier tournament lol, would maybe rather win it than the league cup but that's about it.

It was a rhetorical question.
It's more that their style of play works against possession. .though because we have seen an actual tendency not just a few odd fights of the will
