also, dont get me wrong i like making gifts too, but i feel the whole christmas thing to be unnecessary, i can make gifts to people i care about and i figure not doing it during that period of utter glorification of consumerism makes it even more meaningful... just my opinion...

I got my woman tickets to pink at the O2 (fucking 100 notes to sit in the cheap seats ) and a kindle fire HD so she will stop stealing my kindle. >_<

Overkill? I can guarantee I've spent less than you, not that it's about the money, and it's thing's she'll actually value (for the most part). What can I say, I just like treating people.

This year has been a good year for her, tbf, took her to Berlin for her birthday for 4 days (which was sort of a present for me too), so I said she has to up her game now.

Agree with that, it's just an excuse to all do it together.

Making a couple of presents for my nephew, he's proper obsessed with pirates at the mo, got him this pirate tent and sword, gonna make a treasure map and hide some goodies somewhere. He's a bit of a long bod, and I'm not a fan of kids, but I do like kid's stuff. I would rinse some of the lego big time, if somebody bought me some for christmas, I'd thrive off it.

Though I agree, I love giving thoughtful presents, I'm just really bad at remembering all the cool stuff I'll be thinking about giving throughout the year. Should probably start to write that shit down..

Yeah, I'm shit at remembering, I usually have an idea for a couple of things, and then the rest just comes to me when I'm thinking about what to get other people.

Basically, went to hamburg a few years ago, and there was this store that sold a cuddly version of basically every animal. No joke, no matter how out there you think it is (Kinkajou, Aye Aye, Halibut, Rainbow Trout, Thorny Devil etc.) there was a pretty accurate cuddly version of it. Told my girlfriend about it, and since then she's been saying she defo would've bought the cuddly rainbow trout.
