Seriously dude, you need to chill out... Not everybody's into this stuff, no point in getting mad or offended over it.Cornbreadddd wrote:Hahaha, I definitely just had to check your recent posts to make sure that you we're just joking. Take a step towards the real sound of it all. Feel the bass.

I like most of his stuff mate, got a few things on 12", but like others have said, you're definitely scratching the surface.
Even his newer stuff which is going down the more "radio friendly route" is quite catchy.

Re: Brostep / Skrillex and the Forum.
Or perhaps, I don't know, maybe they just like the music????
Nahhhh, couldn't be. It's popular so everyone who wasn't with it from the beginning is bandwagoning!
I don't like Skrillex's music, or generally ANY type of brostep, but I believe that people are too quick to point the "bandwagoning" finger at artists who make changes in their styles and/or attempt to branch out.
Example: I love every tune that Skream has EVER made. Ever. From Dark Light and Arola to, yes that's right, Anticipate.
I clearly see his branching out and change of style as exactly that - he's making an effort to grow as an artist and try new things.
However, many people have a lot of hate for that and label it as selling out. I honestly think that's horrible because it completely discourages the thing I love the most about dubstep, which is originality. One of the main reasons I hate most brostep is the lack of originality it posseses.
However, this type of attitude only discourages originality.
No hate for anyone, I respect their opinions, I just am generally disgusted when I see these type of posts and felt like
popping my 2 cents in.

Seriously now

I'm not saying just because you weren't there from the beginning you are bandwagoning. But I'm pretty sure people can at least see the obvious ones... Take that whole Korn thing from a few months ago for instance. It was obvious to everyone that they had no idea about what they were talking about.
Do you honestly think that people like Korn, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, The Doors etc actually care about dubstep ? Let's get real.
And how can The Doors branch out?! They're not even an active band, Jim Morison's been dead for 40 years and the last album they did was in '78...
Also, your comparison to Skream is irrelevant as this is a completely different situation.
Re: Brostep / Skrillex and the Forum.
I agree on the Korn account because the guy hadn't even done his research for gods sake, he sounded like an idiot.
I didnt know about Katy Perry doing anything with dubstep
Britney Spears, probably
The Doors, I dont know, I mean who are we to judge whether or not these people (not just the doors, all of these people) just genuinely like the sound? If I was already big and I heard dubstep and loved it, I wouldn't want everyone to jump all over me for trying to get involved in it.
And the Skream example was very relevant, it's the same basic attitude

Also, proof that they don't give a shit about dubstep since it wasn't even the idea of the parties involved: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... y-20111006
And yes, the Skream comparison is totally different. I agree that producers switching styles can seem like (and sometimes is) bandwagoning, but it's still a different situation. Let's not turn this into that Skream related thread.
