RHCP are shit, I hate summer and I dislike most sport. Summer just brings out the worst kinda people. Winter is about fires in my garden, crisp whisky at 3am looking at the stars and wrapping up outside, late night walks across ice fields and calm and tranquillity. Summer, at least around here, is topless roiders and drunk bimbos driving around causing habits, drunk as hell being all messy and loud.. School kids causing trouble fucking with everyone.. Constant noise 24/7.. I wish it was permanently winter

As an insomniac I've become used to the night, and I prefer it. I live in an area where you can always see a lot of stars very clearly, so part of my routine has become going out onto the balcony/garden and just stargazing for a while whilst listening to some tunes. I find it much more relaxing than a blinding sun and a vertigo inspiring blue mass.

But yes, I have been likened to a vampire for my nocturnal preferences

I live 10 minutes from the sea in a beautiful coastal town.
Cricket nets across the road, tennis court no less than 5 minutes walk, squash courts maybe 5 minute drive as well.
Loads of mountain bike trails n nice roads for general cycling.
Getting stoned n playing cricket with my son or some friends with a couple beers.
Fishing once again with a spliff and a couple beers.

Fuckit, how could you not like summer down here.
Winter is really not much different though as our weather is always nice.

My summers sound shit because I live in a coastal town in South Wales and you live in South Africa haha. I might enjoy a summer where you're from, but I'm not a fan of the sun or brightness in general. I used to like fishing though

I'm not 'afraid' of the sun, light gives me migraines and because of the lack of clouds where I am it's always really intense and direct sunlight. I know it's good for you and your skin etc but it's not worth the constant headaches.

I have really bad eyes right now by the way, this is a recent thing, haven't always been like this

I like both but the lack of people willing to go outside and play sports in the winter really fucking bothers me.

Jate - get into the sun and your eyes will adjust over time.
Work those muscles to strengthen them.

Have you ever been tested for Erlin's Syndrome? Sounds similar to my brother's experience - it's actually certain frequencies of light that get him particularly, but it wasn't until he worked out what it was that he realised it wasn't all light. Now he wears coloured lenses to filter out the unpleasant bits (towards the yellow end of the spectrum for him)... gives him loads more stamina and means he isn't stuck in a darkened room with a migraine for 4 hours after leaving the house for 20 minutes.

He still can't work under strip lights, but he's been able to start his own business after 7 years of unemployment/disability.
