Twilight is the most obvious by far in terms of actually avoiding what vampires really are.

Buffy definitely had elements of it though.

Actually thinking about it maybe it's been a slow process. Which actually makes perfect sense if you think of it that way.

Yeah well obviously. In fact that's one of the most obvious aspects of the idea of a vampire. It's just funny how it's gone from being a predominantly predatory suggestion to twilight style crap at such great speed in the last few years. There must have been a point where the exploration of sexuality in vampire stories reached a tipping point into being something desirable that opened the floodgates for all this vampire romance crap

Grown ups (I use that term loosely) like twilight though.

My house mates used to watch the dvds all the time and wouldn't shut up about it when a new movie was coming out.
