I was bored and spent a good amount of time lol'ing at old posts. I wish I was here or at the old site when it started. I enjoyed reading N-Type's posts the most. Shonky was the ninja. At least, on most of the posts I read.

Ableton makes it so you leave the variables of a screw up to a minimum,
Have you ever tried mixing with a mask on? It fucking tough, I've done it, mixing ZOMBY tunes...
Ohh, everyone's gotta read The Wire next issue, they are gonna run a letter I wrote about the man in question!

I went. He hit play in ableton, browsed the forums or something, occasionaly lifted his mask slightly to drink or smoke. Song selection was alright though, no soulja boy so that was a plus.

I attended. Didnt know anything about him except for his releases.
Which makes kind of funny to browse throuh this thread
But yea: staring at v for vendetta who is staring at his laptop.
The mix could probably have also been pulled off in itunes
No headphones, didnt see interaction with a controller
Did happen to catch a group of unhappy campers flipping him off on their way out.
But he does get a thumbs up for track selection.
At times incohesively diverse though
Im down with the hiphop/rap/slaps
And also very partial to this venue and its sound system
Conclusion
Zomby not a choice dj. But that doesnt ruin a night
And i must mention much respect to dj dials and his krew for the show
Most nights out here are electro/top40s/brostep
Thanks for the breath of fresh air, especially machinedrum

That deset tune goes off!!!
Kind of disappointing to read about his live performance though, I had higher expectations.

anyone thinking that zomby doesn't know how to mix?
never heard a dj set from him and all the descriptions of him playing are "could have been done in itunes"

I was (HELLA FADDED) @ THE SHOW IN SAN FRANCISCO.
I had an amazing experience though, Caught ZOMBY outside stepping out of the car, I shouted "Yo!", but he looked in the opposite direction, someone pulled me aside and took me into the club, DISTAL WAS AN AWESOME MIX DJ, JASPER NASTY is always quite PROPER, MACHINEDRUM DELIVERS EVERY TIME.
Zomby's set was comprised of 45 minutes of Grime, 30 minutes of his own material, one Burial track ("I can't get my mind off you, I envy you, GIRL..." ) He closed with some Hardcore NY Instrumental Hip Hop, pretty fresh all in all, though I'd feel pretty weird coughing up 8 stacks at the end of the night for very little mixing through the set. Then again a zomby tune is a beautiful thing from start to finish. I feel a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders, because I know the TRUE IDENTITY OF ZOMBY...

those samples made the song corny as hell.
that movie sucked.
good tune tho.
also, glad i didn't spend a bunch of money to fly to see zomby not do anything. people should stop booking him. he doesn't really seem to want to play out or give 2 fucks about his fans who pay for all his overpriced clothing and weed.

zomby killed it in SF plain and simple. Sure he wasn't animated and looked like he didn't give a fuck but he played great tunes from start to finisH. It was especially awesome for me being a big grime head and getting to hear a bunch of classics and some new shit that we really don't get at many gigs in the SF.
