NICORISINE: the drums are sick, and i like the sample!
NG_GAMMA: sick stuff dude, try and see what it sounds like if you make it a little deeper
swanwickk: kinda felt like the intro was dragged on a little, other than that sick track, cool sounds
made some progress today on my remix, hopefully i can finish this thing before the deadline

@gnarbage good start, that beat is sick. But it sounds a little empty, maybe try and fill some of the space with a pad of some sort. Maybe a little less bitcrusher on some of those sounds wouldn't hurt either
@bradicle yeah thats a sick tune man. maybe you could think about switching up the instrumentation here and there -see what that does. Sounds pretty sick though tbh
@amphibian the track is pretty damn sick, all it needs is a bit of a mixdown
This is my bit, its not quite finished

@LTUK.
Nice track bro, I was thinking, how about some new percs coming in a little later on with some reverb or delay? Just some more stuff the add atomsphere.
Speaking of which, you could get some weird rainforest or jungle noise sampes and have them in the background if you really wanted to create a deep moody atmosphere.
Here's mine:

Not finished, what do you think?

Not really work-in-progress as it's basically finished.
But that's only because I kinda wanted to start something fresh.
Anyone got some ideas for improvement?
Here's the new track:

@Swanwick- the intro is very nice, very spooky, reminds me of spanish horror films for some reason, like catolic chanting or something, really original intro leads into something very wobbly and generic, sorry I'm just sick of basslines like this nothing personal, it's well produced and sounds pretty crisp, maybe a bit tailored up towards the high end, cutting out some of the lower frquencies? but not really my cup of tea.
This sounded really good to me at about 3AM last night but now I'm not so sure

yeah its the first time i've made fulthy dubstep omgz!!!1!! in a while, usually I make stuff like the song in my synth, im just trying to experiment with styles and broarden my production horizons haha
and with your song its interesting i think something good can be made out of it but i would try and get a bit more high end frequencies in there to compliment the bass, and also bring the drums a little higher in the mix

@LTUK: Really love the evolving pad at the start along with the syncopated percussion, great stuff! You said I need to do the mixdown - totally agree, that's where I get lost, really don't know how to go about it
@hutyluty: You need to get that percussion standing out a bit more. To me it sounds more like an ambient track with some clicks and whatnot in it
@ogunslinger: liking it man, pretty solid production all round. Synths gel quite nicely!
@nicorisone: you may be getting a fan here buddy, loving your deep moody vibes

@ogunslinger: i dig this man. lovin the dirty undertones that peek up every once in a while. really like that last big drop at 3:20 or so. nice work
@LTUK: oooo that sub is nice! i really like that woodblock/shuffling-a-deck-of-cards sound and all the other little clicky noises. i like that ambient sounding pad but i think it could use a little more variation in some parts. oops, nevermind it just jumped into that wah-wah sound.
@DannyDubstep: i like this dude! love that long attack on every other snare. ooooo that drop just hit, fuckin dirty man! i'm really liking this, can't wait to hear the final version
@amphibian: sounds good, i love the chill vibe of this. i really liked that second drop too
here's my newest project, i think it's almostttttt done. just another process-oriented track really, still trying to learn how to make decent sounds. i'd really appreciate any feedback from you homies!

@dannydubstep: Interesting I'd like to hear the final version to see it come together. Seems like you have the main idea going already. The Bassline is on point the only thing i'd work on realy is the intros and build
@bRRRz: Personally Id drop that synth you're using in the intro and breakdown. I'd also suggest easing into the breakdown by removing some elements of the song. Bassline and drums are sick though.
@Willryan042: Moar intro and breakdown yo haha naw. I do enjoy a Toxic remix I won't lie. My advise would be start splitting your basslines, because it sounds like thats what your going for [if your not already doing that] If you had more of a lead in and breakdown though it would make the track more interesting to me.
Here is my latest work in progress any advise, hate, or bigups! would be greatly appreciated

@dj2slo: I like youre style, the little jungle sound drums fit really good! Maybe you can put a bit more reverb on your main synth to make it even more spacier. And maybe pan you're sounds a bit more to make the whole think more interesting

But overall you have a cool song man!
@brRRRz: Good start! But only i think youre intro sound is a bit too 'happy' to fit the song. And in your rhythm you should add some more sound to youre high synth, it sounds a bit weak to me. Good luck!
@DannyDubstep: Try some panning in youre synth man. And uhm.. ye you should make the whole think more interesting its sounds a bit standard to me. Good luck!
For me, the is my newest demo of my song Whorm. Hope you like it and would love to have some feedback thanks!

Hey guys, my name is Alister I'm 22 years old from Maryland, United States.
@Joyzor: "Whorm" - Dude this is a really solid production, the levels are just right and the song is bouncy, which I love! Only thing I might say is that high pitched synth may be a little piercing to the ear on certain sound systems
@hutyluty/deathtrap: "dogdad" - I enjoy this style of sound, very spacey, reminds me of the game EVE Online. I would suggest giving the main pad sound smoother transitions to other notes, maybe a fade in/fade out or a portamento. I would also say that the stabbing sounds in the second half of the song would benefit from a softer attack.
@NICORISONE: "The Fence" - I'd love to work on this with you if you'll have me. The bassline you have is already primed for some potentially epic chord progressions, and theres plenty of room to explore dark effects and melodic leads, if that's your thing.
I've been working on this track for the past couple days, it's a sort of chillout, atmospheric, melodic dubstep
Please listen and tell me what you think!

Thanks,

impressive, man.. this is totally my cup of tea. Love the chords, and the percs. This is what it should be about!
Only minor thing I can say is wasn't overly keen on the rattle? ...I think it's a rattle. Seems to clash with the sense of space you've built up. Either way, it's a really nice track
I'm looking to change up the pad and introduce some chords (actually, like in ^ that I just commented on) and needs some shuffle-y hats
But how's it sounding so far? Sent the kick to a very light touch of 'verb as it made the kick slightly grittier which sounds nice on my speakers, but slightly shit on my headphones...
Crit would be much appreciated.

@JemGrover/sirens-1: "Walk Away" - I love the synth/pad in the intro of this song. May I ask how you made that synth? I have a lot of ideas for atmospheric dubstep, reminiscent of ambient chillout and post-rock bands... and that sound style is actually what i want to use as a pad. Also, maybe you're going in a totally different direction but I would like to hear some more snares and a driving beat to go along with the already fantastic chord progression. Perhaps you can try adding another layer to the pad to thicken the sound when the bass drops for the first time?

Yeah man, my old band used to make Post Rock
Initially, it was a pad I'd made a while back in Massive so its's a combination of
> Typical volume envelope of a slow attack and long release
> A lowpass filter envelope that also slowly opens up, but not so much you get a lot of the harsh, higher frequencies
> Quite a lot of EQ'ing to get rid of any frequencies that were making my ears hurt, lol, and then compressed it quite heavily
After that it was just a matter of sending it to some Reverb and then panning that wide. I think there might be some auto-pan on it as well.
Glad you like it!

ogunslinger, that intro really gets you pumped but i think once the drop comes, its a little disappointing. maybe add some kind of background synth and soft lead behind the bass when it comes in. possibly some EQ on the wobs? otherwise, you have an awesome track in the works!
LTUK, super chill vibes on this track. sort of ESKMO'esque

although after a little bit, it seems to drag. i think it could use a a subtle arp in the background or something similar.
DannyDubstep, i absolutely love the lead! i think it totally fits the track. however, when the wobbles come in, you take out the subbass... why? lol jk i love the wobs but you need to put that subbass behind them.

before I start, why isnt there a sub-section for track reviews? This is ridiculous trying to give feedback when nobody knows what post links to what track, Its all way too messy
i came over here from dnbforum n it has a separate section within production. Cant be too difficult to do insert > board.
Anyway rant over lets give some feedback:
@jayz0r - wicked flow in the track man, but i agree with wu05, the high pitched beep sound is sounding a lil too ear piercing for me...but good prod on the kicks n snares, n nice variation...n lol at the random fx like the sneeze! nice one..
@wu05 - sweet atmospheric vibes here mate...love the waves crashing effect going on..n u got some good automation keeping the track moving. although ur low end snare came in from nowhere, which was odd to me, felt a bit random...n the amen break at the end is wicked! i think this is more liquid dnb than dubstep
@JemGrover - i can see what you're trying to achieve with the deep atmos n space effects, n i think ur on ur way there, but maybe some spaced out effects and percussion are needed. try some rides, shakers, beep fx n any sound to create that effect...but these sounds are always subtle...less is more is this case
Here's something ive been working on over the weekend. Let me know your thoughts!

Actually this is a better format as it means we can easily pick out people who do not provide feedback before posting their own track. Generally if you're giving a lot of feedback people tend to respond to you as well.
