@kthonik- not tryin to be a dick. like the intro alright but that drop sounds like a bunch of noises crammed together. work on cleaning up that mix and sound design. your sounds are drowning out the rest of your song.

@jclarkevi- nice tune just try adding some variations in the kick and fill your songs. also, stay away from modern talking, there are plenty of ways to make vowel sounds without having to resort to that. :W:

@cymbalic- love that tune. fucking deep. there are worse tunes that i would have to pay for. keep up the good work! PS that mix sounds the tits on my mackies.

@antman- great 05' sound. reminds me of horsepower productions. try getting a little extra thump outta that kick.

@Scy7he- that shit rides after drop. maybe making the snare thunk a bit more. but everything else sounds pretty dope.

here is mine. gotta clean up that little bit of white noise right before the first breakdown.

@Crow Steppa: Cool ambiences on the intro, love that choir feel, it's kinda Burial-esque. The lead might be good with some ping-pong delay to stop the notes seeming a bit repetitive. Drums on the drop are nice, hats might be a little too loud though. I'd recommend sidechaining the pads/choir to get the track pumping more - just to give it movement and help clean it up. The bass tbh isn't for me - it seems a little basic and seems to have a bit too much high end, making it stick out in the mix, try and tone it back and add more subtle movements - really try to get it to melt into the mix but keep it heavy.

@kale: Intro riff is cool, kinda japanese. The snare sounds weak tbh, just like brown noise - try swapping it out or layering in a sample with a nice punch. The bass is kinda basic, I'd tone down the high end - it sounds very digital. I'd also try to add in more elements rather than just the midrange and drums. The outro/breakdown bits are nice and chill :)

@chasewoood: Still not sure about that weird intro, that squelchy sounds is really weird haha. The drop just sounds like you took 10 Massive presets and lined them up one after another, not trying to sound harsh but you need to think about your tracks flow and please consider volume levels - some synths are way louder than others (the really high end ones sounded piercing on my monitors), get everything sitting at the same level and glue the synths together. Also lower all the synths and bring through the drums because I can't actually hear them at all. :6:

@jclarkeiv: Intro sounds kinda gangster haha, like the synth work, sounds kinda retro but it's cool. I'd take the rev. snare of every other beat, atm having it on every snare doesn't give a good effect. I'd avoid ahving a sub-bomb before the drop too, makes the drop bass seem less powerful. Drums on the drop are quite clean but vary your hats man, make them natural - they get tiring quick. Try working on sound design and layering in melodies, atm the track is quite flat and dull - liven it up some. ;-)

@Chainsaw Police: Tracks down.

@almostskate100: I like the samples on the intro, damn that electric piano is smooth. The samples are nice man - gives a natural feel to everything. I might suggest adding in some low strings or a pad with some movement just to carry under the chords/melody - just to add another layer. Great chilled track man :W:

@Filthor: First off thing I noticed is you could clean up and turn down the crashes a little. Up until the chords the track is kinda empty, try and fill that out. The piano and chords are nice. For snare punch, sidechain the volumes of synths with the snare and also automate EQ notches (e.g. at 200Hz) to happen when the snare hits (sidechain the EQ). Vocals are nice too. Overall I'd say the intro (2mins ish) is a little long - try condense it down and get to the drop quicker. Bass on the drop definitely needs work, it's muddy - cut the mids, saturate/distort it, sidechain some and get it really crisp and pumping. :)

Phew, fair bit of feedback there, hoping for some on a few of my EP tracks:

mthrfnk That new WIP is amazing, the intro is so killer. My ears can't pick up the speech that comes in too well, it sounds like the EQ is a little weird, but I like the tune a lot. The second tune posted has a killer drop, I loved it too, I can't wait for that EP man!

Crow Steppa I agree with mthrfnk about the intro needing more movement, but I like the ambience. The hats are harsh sounding and a little loud, and the bass isn't tasteful. I like the sound of the square-ish synth around 0:28 but it seems to stick out just a bit when the note goes higher, maybe fix with it some EQ and a limiter. After the bass and drums come in, the square synth is covered up a lot. I like where it's going mate.

chasewood I like it, but once the drop comes in, harsh frequencies begin to fly, and it sounds a little jumbled. I like to tune as a whole, but it needs some cleaning up if you ask me.

@mthrfnk great job with the melodies, they flow together nicely, like the glitch as well
@kthonik i like the vocal effects at the start, but the sharp noises on the drop drown your drums a lot, your probably trying to sound better by driving the noises, youll better off with careful eqing to make the noises sound stronger
@jclarkeiv great work on the mixdown, sounding fresh

heres a track i think i've finished, not really sure what style it is, if anyone knows let me know ha!

yeah @lukeraith, I kinda like it too, everything in there is good, i just feel it could do with a little more, like some pad or summat. just some background thing to fill it out more, nothing in your face like. Id say its kinda techno/dubstep like 2562 kinda shit

@ mthrfnk
That track is huge.. I love it! Sounds really good to my ears. Keep doing what you do that is almost a perfect track!

@ Crow Steppa
Cool sketch for a track! I'd try to focus on the mixdown. The sounds mash together at some parts. I'd try use a more brickwallish filter to remove some of the lower ends of whatever is not a bass.

@ Luke Raith
Wow that was chill. Loved it. This might sound weird but I'd try to make the kick and clap less punchy. That'd make it even more chill. Really liked the track though.

@ jclarkeiv
This track was fun. xD Sounds like farting frogs are batteling a mechanical brain. I thought it was fun to listen to ^^

I've been working on this progressive house track for last week:
Soundcloud

If you don't like "mainstreamish" house you wont like it.. but any feedback is welcome.
I REALLY really need any kind of feedback. Hard to know if it sounds bad or good when I've been working with it so many hours. :-)

Thanks in advance anyone who pitches in and helps me ^^ <3<3

Oh and if anyone has time and wants to listen to another track I've been working on I'd love any feedback (this is just sketches and ideas.. basically no "song" in its current state):

@ada nice keys on the intro! kick sounds nice, percussion sounds about right, i don't really listen to this genre but it sounds like solid production and it has nice keys/leads/melodies, structure is solid nice buildup, i would say all around 'solid' production!

@ mthrfnk: Excellent textures in synthetic reality. Definitely a house vibe. I don't think I would change a thing.
@ LukeRaith: Your track is pretty out there and trippy man. Everything comes through super clean. There are a few points where it starts to feel repetitive just as another element comes in(like 1:50-2:15ish), if that's what you are going for then it works, lol, if not maybe just another layer or texture thrown into a bar or two in those spots.
@Ada: Pretty upbeat house you got there, Lots of space in just the right places makes it sound pretty huge, I'm really diggin it. It seems a little light on the bass but I am biased towards bass.

Still working on the same track as last time, thanks for all the feedback guys. A friend of mine that produces hip hop is going to record some vocals to lay down on the track as well, but I feel like I'm getting closer to a finished product. Right now I only have one drop, though I think the track would benefit from a break and second drop as opposed to its current arrangement.

jclarkeiv I really like the clean snare in the intro, and the kind of funky sounding synths. Good work! I'm loving the little reverse snare/kick. The drop seems to be unorganized IMO though. I'd say work on reorganizing the synths to have a better call and response to them! :W:
Ada Has a really nice mainstream kind of sound to it hahah. Really good synth work. The melody sweeps are on point too! not sure the kick is punching through enough. It's progressive house, so I dont think you want it to fully push through, but set it a little more so it's more audible.
mthrfnk amazing work as always! Really nice full sounding synths, sounds mastered pretty well. There's hardly anything I can think of that needs fixing. I'd say go for a little glitchy electro part maybe a few bars? It'd add some nice variation I think haha.

Sorry if I skipped any newer posters. There's a lot of soundcloud links in peoples signatures so I didnt know which one's were and which weren't.

Ada: Well mixed so far,but the snare is a little low in the mix. The main lead gets a bit reptitive towards the end but otherwise the bridge is effective and the rest of the song just needs embellishment. Could use some vocals? Right now it's a pretty straight forward 4x4 house track.

Jclarkiev: The kick is a bit strong in the intro and it would be nice to have a bit more bite in the midrange it seems a little washed out on some sounds through out.
Tha arrangement is good It didn't really feel too "samey", coming together nicely...

Dotcurrency: The pre-drop vocal is a bit low, the drop sounded pretty mainstream in a good way for that style of music. I almost want the drums to punch through just a pinch more...

Efrafa11 Nice percs! I think the kick needs more of a like 808 tail and punch through a little more imo. I like the reversed melody, it's really eerie. I think you should add more perc variations.

Fixed a few things and added a bit more. Still want criticism on this.

@Ada Sounds good so far, i'll hope you'll continue it. constructive criticism: it might just be me, but i think that your main sound is a bit too dominant like i can barely hear anything else. also it seems a bit harsh for me, i mean it's strong in the HF midHF area but seems weak a bit lower. it doesn't really have that enery IMO

@Crow Steppa: Really nice ambient feel to the track, it could do with a little bit of subtle low end bass just to give it some weight. The rhythmic change at 1.23 is really nice looking forward to where you take the track.

@mthrfnk: synthetic-reality-wip - Nice track the sounds are well balanced, big and clean. Maybe Just adding some glitch elements or decorative fx to compliment the driving four on the floor rhythm to keep listeners interested.
*** spectrafunk-we-can-dream-demo: wow, can't help but love it. Nothing to add its simply awesome. :Q:

@LukeRaith:
freerunner-luke-raith - Your main pulsing bass sound is immense but it could have a bigger impact if used sparingly. If you can be bothered try playing the bass for 2 Beats and silence it when the snare hits on the 3rd beat, then bring it back on the Kick for a full 4 beats... Hope that makes sense.
Wub wub wub wub "Clack" ... Wub wub wub wub, Wub wub wub wub

irresolute-free-download - Very nice groove to this track. Just a personal preference but adding some subtle snare fills at the end of 8 or 16 bars and switching up your Kick pattern for the last verse will help add variety to the overall track. Your choice of sounds compliment each other well I like your work.
