Detuned waves, stack octaves.
A bit of chorus, and a fast lfo affecting the pitch, make sure it only affects it a little bit.
oh and filter envelope to open the filer up a bit slowly
oh AND have one of the osscilator's play at +semi tones. If you are using massive, this would be 0,+7 and +12 osscilators.

Hey guys, really like this topic and have wondered how to make this sound for quite a while and really would appreciate it if you guys could help me out
kejk wrote:Oh and if someone is interested in the overused Flux pavillion high pitched ear killing bass, I kinda nailed it last night.
Synth 1 = noise + high pitched square.
Synth 2 = sine sub.
Add an overkill amount of tape saturation to both and boom. For some reason, if you don't play the synths at the same time, it will sound like pish. The sub+tape sat clashes with synth 1 for some reason, this is what makes it sound cool.
yeah i just made this sound on luck lol
if you have any massive presets i could check out i could even swap you some sounds
it is kind of bad but if you are on AIM i could even show you how i made a few sounds so you can recreate them your way

to me it actually just sounds like a single osc. saw wave - all the effects that are not necessary is probably what makes it end up sounding like a trance chord
a touch of filter env (maybe even not)
lfo modulating osc 1 pitch(play around with rates, and amounts)

i think i have it closer now, the only thing i cant get is the chord itself..

particularly the part at 22-23 seconds
i suspect its a pitch bend? but im looking for that niiice sound as well
cheers dsf
automation on the filter frequency cut off is slowly rising up
LFO 1 Since wave - 1/8trips on filter cuttof
LFO 2 Saw wave - 4/4th or something slow like that on filter cutoff.
Lots of resonance on said filter and voila.

For want of a better way to describe it, the song goes: "Bluh! Bluh! du-de-du-de-du-duh-duh, Bluh! Bluh!"
I use reason, so that would help if you can talk to me in reason language.
Thanks,

No one can help me with this??

No need to "bump". We have all seen the post. Maybe someone can help you with it, but that someone isn't me or anyone who has read the thread yet. Be patient, it's not like people only read last posts..

Ive got Massive Albino Absynth FM8 on Logic 9.
I'm pretty sure Zomby uses Reason or at least used to...
yep, but what synth you use does not matter whatsoever so long as it has at least one osc (all duh)
the key is the way it's programmed, play around with different grids (1/16, 1/32, etc etc) program notes in and also some reverb and delay
square waves done this way = instant nintendo sounds
I wasn't saying anything about how you make the sound just what program I heard he used...
“I use Gameboys, Nanoloop, LSDJ, Pro Performer, MPC2000 XL, Logic Studio, Macbook Pro, Atari ST Akais, Microkorg, anything that gives me the texture I want.” - Zomby
He started out using Reason though.
Sorry for the delay, but that's my Trolley Snatcha thwomp combi. I made it mad long ago so the routing and shit is ridiculous so be careful if you try to tweak it. Sorry for the messy rack, lemme know if you like it.

I've been searching the whole forum and didn't found some tips/hints on this one yet: (strange)
How do I make the sound and TIMING Jakes often uses in his tracks.
I'm talking about the track 3kout:
Basically I want to know what kinda technique he uses to make his psycho weird wobbles
Oh and to prove that I'm not a Jakes obsessed guy, here's a massive tune by Dark Tantrums & Kromestar which kinda features the same technique
I'm not talking about the high sound, but I'd like to know how to make the sound on the background. (especially the Rhythm and timing)
Two more songs that feature similar bassline's so you guys really know what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArGz01un ... ge#t=9319s
^massive track btw, don't have info on it ..
RDG - Elephant craft (Unreleased) also features this technique a bit at the first drop, but he uses Ableton and I use Reason
I really hope some, preferably Reason, user can help me on this one!
