Yeah, I get that bit, obviously it's useful to know when things are happening, but I meant more from a "Drop everything, the Premiership fixtures are out! Take over the front page of the Sports section!" standpoint... the level of coverage and 'excitement' just seems a bit out of whack for a dump of calendar entries telling us when games we already know are going to happen are happening.

The World Cup is on and the top story on BBC Football is Manchester City playing Newcastle in August.

Yeah man I have been waiting with baited breath for em, makes the renewal even harder to swallow if I'm gonna miss some games. As it stands nothing clashes tho :) apart from a 3pm after a wedding that might end up being reminiscent of how I felt on NYD this year

I thought that too, then I did a bit of searching and found this;

http://www.theweek.co.uk/football/premi ... -balotelli
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... regas.html

Same story, but from start of June?

like all arsenal transfer stories i wont believe it till it happens lol
but i think hed be a quality signing.
mandzukic, or jackson martinez just isnt what we need right now. basically just the same players as giroud
we need that pace, a striker that can actually run past defenders

Vela doesn't want to come back, sounds like Sociedad are paying off Arsenal to get rid of the buy back clause

If giroud was more clinical he'd be a fantastic striker for arsenal. he's a great contributor to the overall attack.

We'd probably get the best out of ozil if we had a striker with pace looking to make runs but a striker that plays like giroud but with better finishing would be great for us as well. If you remember in the first half of the season everyone was pretty happy with giroud he was scoring and playing well, it was only when he started pissing away scoring opportunities later on that arsenal fans started turning on him

Cissé's story must be one of the most disappointing in the history of football. :(

matt le tissier
Yeah he was the most remarkable player in the prem apart from Ronaldo imo.

Luc Nilis is another one people dont usually know about btw but his career was ruined early on.

which one though Djibrill or Pappisse?

Imo Djibrill Cissé was not as good as the rest of that generation of french attackers. Miles behind Henry/Anelka and Trezeguet, Wiltord etc were no doubt as good as him. He ran fast, fired rockets but with the accuracy of a blind one legged girl.

He was notoriously lazy and managers didn't think he'd suit the way England played at the time

One of the best players never to represent England at a major finals.
