I've just put my dollar into the bank and it takes, unfortunately, a few days to clear. As soon as that sucker goes through, I'm off to buy Fable II.
Was anyone here not as convinced by the last Fable as me?

I loved Fable, played through it a good number of times trying to take different paths each time. My mate has bought this today, so no doubt I'll be round there this weekend!!!

I think the new PES is excellent, each to their own I guess.

See, that's what the ****** bit for me was. I think the game was made out to be more free-roaming than it was - I was under the impression that it was going to be a pseudo-sandbox type of RPG, but it turned out to be quite linear in regards to story. I wouldn't normally have a problem with that, some of my favourite games - Jade Empire, Mass Effect - have been similar, but I think Fable was just...well, weak.
I dunno. I can't put it in words, I'm shit with words. No, actually, I'm just
shit.
Gonna get Saints Row 2 as well!

sounds very much like they've achieved the original sandbox vision with the sequel. apparently the main quest is really short, but the actual fun's in all the extraneous shite.

I wasn't into the Fable, nice idea and great graphics but felt like poor man's Elder Scrolls..
Having said that, I've recently purchased Fable II heard some quirky things about it too

This weekend, I was playing Fable II with one of my mates. I have to say, I found it a very enjoyable game, and very similar to Fable (which in my opinion is a very good thing). It really does feel like an extension of the original game. The dog is a pretty cool addition, it's hard to not build a bond with the thing, and he's very useful when it comes to finding treasure!
I played through very little of the main quests, just did some of the side missions and some of the jobs. We killed hours without even thinking about the main quest. I'd say that with this game, you'll get out what you put in. So if you focus on the main quest, you'll finish the game quickly, and will put it back on the shelf thinking it's a bit crap. However, if you play through the side missions, explore everything in the the world that's available to you, then I reckon you'll find it a very rewarding experience.
