Agreed. Actually, I'd expand this to include quite a lot of "Live" Hip Hop... the only act I can think of that did the rock band thing right were Public Enemy about 10 years ago and even then they let Flava Flav loose on the drums for about 20 minutes at the show I saw.

The Roots make music for people who used to be B-Boys but are now PTA-Dads.

Another really boring hip hop group, i dont know if they are still around but Slum Village.. And Common.
