if you want attention, let your music demand attention. this is a global sound. the production and skill level for those at the top get's higher everyday. make sure that the music you're letting out to the world is as skillful and different than everything you hear being released right now. otherwise, what's the point? when there's global attention on one sound, its bound to be hard to get heard. those thinking its an easy road need to rethink what they're doing and why they're doing it. as silkie said a while back, "there isn't some noah's ark thats going to leave the dock, and leav you behind." this music is here to stay and open to everyone, just be very smart about where you want to go, how you get there and how much work you're willing to put in.

I think I might just write a bot that writes the same response every ten posts or so, to save people actually reading the thead...

Only thing is this is club music. It was good that you could go to a main room at a big dubstep night and see a big crowd going off to decent music (with variety).

Nowadays a lot of the time the good stuff is room 2 stuff and the main room = bollocks.

I suppose most of the time the exciting stuffs going on in small clubs anyway. see: Why Not? vs. FWD.

i love all the possitivity going on in this messageboard, but man, any sign of a negative comment that is supposed to start a DISCUSSION is always trashed on. this is a messageboard, people exchange ideas, people argue. to me that's half the fun. i enjoy discussing the music.

I think NIN suck and killed the scene years ago with their lame sissy emo industrial disco pop cock rock.

Discuss.

It's tempting to say that the point at which a lot of people started finding the stuff in room two of a big club more fun and interesting than the stuff being played in the main room was not long after dubstep actually started getting played in the main room of big clubs. It's not like in 2003 awesome innovative dubstep was getting played in the main room at fabric or anything.

And it seems increasingly like the small clubs and the DJs and labels and producers doing the stuff that I enjoy are carving out a space that's somewhere seperate from the 'mainstream' of dubstep...
