How does me not sharing myself = not loving the music?

it seems like you're kind of eager to let people know you're all of these things though!
Look, I wasnt quick to tell it until someone asks, youll note the original statement was a half formed thought during a drunken stupor a long time ago. He asked. I explained. I dont see how that makes me eager?
I get no pleasure out of people stroking my ego. All Im on about. I dont like people looking to closely at me.

You can do a lot better for the future of your music by keeping it to yourself tbh. I think when someone hears your n00bish efforts they are going to have a harder time taking you seriously later even if you are making dope stuff. To me it is a confidence issue. If you don't know if your stuff is dope or not then it is NOT. Once you are truly confident about your music then I think people will recognize your music as quality. If you really don't know good music from bad music then you have no business producing it then!

ima bump this since the year is pretty much over pass this month
i feel like this has been a real good year musically for me because of the collabs with kaiori im real glad ive gotten the chance to work with him. though my depression and life situations have really limited me creatively expressing myself in my solo work, sometimes i really feel like none of this is worth it at all and music isnt really helping as an escape from the shit in my life i hate to sound like a bitch but I just wanna be happy and i feel the only way i will is accomplishing my musical goals hopefully in 2011 but i doubt it will be though solo work so im grateful to be able to work with such artists as kairori and soon JFK and Whyrez. Im also very thankful to Abz for wanting to release some songs on his label for me and kai
I love all the friends ive made on DSF. thanks for the support

Nice on Trip. It won't all happen in one year sadly. Just keep at it.
I feel I accomplished enough this year. Got the Fent Plates compilation out on Christmas day then have a paid release in the near future.
I am progressing a lot production wise and feel I have developed a "certain sound" So all together I can be happy about my musical year.
Thanks for the support from Fent Plates and my DSF mates
Good luck with 2011 everyone

Arriving a bit late to this discussion..
but as for 2011.... I can truthfully say that I will approach it as if it will be ANYTHING BUT "my" year.... I will assume my best days are already behind me.
Otherwise, what else could possibly make me work 10x harder than I have ever worked before?

In conclusion, it was NOT my year
My kids are at that age where they need a lot more of my time. Once they get a little older they won't even want me around probably

But at least I can get back to having time in the attic. I am not getting any younger but I am already "old" so I feel more like time has already swept away rather than the clock is running down. But anyway kicking next year off like I did last year. Room full of speakers and punters and rocking out.

2010 was a year of a ton of hard work... paving the way for even harder work in 2011. Toed the edge of creative comfort in 2010-- well beyond what's comfortable now. This is the fun part.
The process of artistic growth, and choosing the paths for that growth to take, ain't easy. Big ups to those in the fight.

this was the year i started
just like every day brings new possibilities and new ideas and new goals, so do new years
the cycle continues, and i have to do something to just keep my brain occupied.

Gah outside the studio this year was a TOTAL disaster... But I think all the stress worked to my benefit in my tunes. Got some good ideas down. Got a long to-do list for my music this coming year, and i'm not gonna get much of that done till I get my whole life situation figured out. All I can see in 2011 are big challenges, but that's what is going to make accomplishing them that much better.
