Thanks man. But its honestly true. The main problem i think people have with this is that they are peeved they never got a helping hand, and are afraid people will use this for good    (jokes)

Yeah its the nature of my music. If i dont have a clear arrangement, i do get stuck and get easily side-tracked.

So... I have not said on verdict on this topic yet... but its now time to say where i say.

When i first read this, i dint think that it was that much of a negative thing to do. Surely it has its up side and down sides. Main down side i think is that it might reduce creativity, and main up side that its great if your a new producer, with the willingness to work, but don't know where to start from. I must say when i started on the production game, instead of reading waffles and waffles about synth's and stuff, i just hoped onto my DAW and started messing around with parameters and buttons to see the result. So, am more of a psychically do person, so most defo i can see the idea behind the creater of this site and idea.

Now, Depone told me a while back that he was did a template for this, and showed me the song. When i first listened to, most of Depones sounds and ideas were behind the song, so he did give alot of his sounds out i must say. Even with the baselines, arite i know its not his best baselines, musically and technically sound wise. Nevertheless, if your new... how can you complain with that, the song even has been mixed to a decent level. So its got all the right things you need to make a good start.

Peeps might be afraid that now where going to get more even more rubbish producer, that have no musical knowledge what so ever, but hey you never know, it may alot form a great producer too...!

Uh-oh... Ive been waitin for you to drop that one depone, haha. Seriously man, judging by those screenshots and the tune, your following with the point of this website. The song itsself is a good tune, but you can really hear where youve left whoevers going to buying this template with a complete clean envirnment to work in, and some hgihly customizable instruments. And if your youtube videos are to judge by, not many of us could make something to teach newbies better then yourself.

On a note though, seems like youve kept it pretty well balanced that people will be forced to elaborate on it as well. From what I can see and hear, youve presented them with the conepts that make a well crafted song techincally, while giving them a pretty generic 'template' soundset in the actual tune. This is a good thing, and I hope more artists will see these templates through to that end.

I dont mind if some newbie buys depones template and goes 'omg... so thats what compression is'... or 'omg, so thats how I makez teh wobble' ... at least, with the way Depones made his, I doubt they will copying audio out of his to use as their own. Rather, will walk away with some good techincal skills from studying it.

Big up Depone, I think you did good with it.

Thanks man. I did put a lot of original 'my sounds' in there but its not like a trade secret, i can deal with handing out a few of my sounds. I rarely recycle sounds so i may ormay not use any of those again in another tune.
The bassline was a compromise between a modern wobble and my own style.

Yeah that was the idea, for people to be able to elaborate on it. I tried to add a variation of sounds so that he/she can take what they want and blast away!

Yeah I think the initial reaction to this was a bit over the top, personally would have loved to have something like this when I started out.
I remember when Reason first came out all those years ago and there was some template songs, I learnt so much about synthesis and arrangement from those.
I agree with Depone that it's just another tool in the production arsenal, and big ups to him for going ahead with it despite the obvious flack that he would cop.

I don't time right now to read this whole thread... but my two cents on these 'be a music master in 2 easy steps' production programs is that they usually sell, but if they're SIMPLE, that means that after about 2 weeks every song made by this program will start to sound the same. It'll be one of those things where you can tell what program they used in the first 5 seconds, like people who use 'windows movie maker'. I'm not worried about it, really. Sure it'll water down the music scene even more than it already is, but the fact is the mixes and sounds in this program are limited, and when people get sick of it they'll want something new, and there's nowhere to turn but to talented people with real DAWs nit-picking over an EQ.

hello again gentelmen,

I just want to say, the typo was my error. Sorry about that!

Second, I'm glad to see this is still creating such debate. We definitely feel it's worthy of it and appreciate the passion that goes in on both sides. We are trying our best to toe the line of providing something that people can learn from but also not make people feel like we're taking away creativity. In the end, we feel it's all personal perception.

Third, I'd just like to say thank you to Depone. Not only did he create a very solid song file, but he's incredibly professional! To us, that is the most important thing. We'd work with him again any day.
