Same thing happened to me w/ dsf22 - had a great start, got overzealous and turned it into mudcakes in no time flat, didn't get back around to trying to wrap it up until it was too late.

Might I recommend starting from scratch and doing something a lot more minimal?
yeah, I was thinking about starting over, I think im just gonna wait for the next one, being busy sucks I never have time to focus on my musack its depressing.
Know how you feel. I've managed to give mine about an hour's attention in total, not cool

Jesus christ. I need to do this more often; it's loads of fun. Usually I'd spend at least 30 hours on a track but I started yesterday afternoon and have almost finished in about 10 hours.... the samplepack format gives you just the right combination of limits and possibilities.

I made a start on mine the day I realized that this was on (late!) and got my usual 8-16 bar loop, got disillusioned and stopped.
Then I went through a spell of feeling shit and that kills any desire to do anything creative. But, then I sat down the other day, listened to the loop, decided I actually liked it and after that everything just fell into place :e:
I think it's an acceptable tune, I guess

After all that, now I want to do other things to it - had loads of ideas for it since I gave the copy to HAACK :q:
Ah well, c'est la vie du l'homme qui est un idiot :u:

I think everyone here is going to do that lol. I did the exact same thing. I wouldn't worry about it, I think anybody who enters a track is always going to feel like they should have done a bit more or spent a little more time on something or added something a little different to it. I'm sure your track is solid and sure, even if it's not, it'll kick my tracks ass :)

Why not send a him a new version, as long as it's before the deadline I don't think that will be a problem.

My track is a bit stuck, or maybe i'm stuck -q- but i'm gonna send it regardless. Just got to watch that deadline -e-

Yea I guess yer right (that everyone will want to do more, not kicking yer track's arse  )
I've been thinking of going through past tracks and updating them with my own samples actually.
Because the ideas are there but the little parts that need extra samples (drum hits etc.), or where I could use a Synth for a sub line instead of the provided sample of a subwave, and EQing and leveling better, general audio overhaul... stuff like that ;)

Might even put them all together when I've done them and do a "Dubstep Forum Samplepack Tracks vol. 1" collection for dwld :e:
That'd be nice actually..

"MediaFire doesn't act like a tnuc and stops saying that my upload is a failure.. You're an online data storage site, not a music critic... tnuc..."

In! :t:

Wish I'd spent more time on it now though. You know all that constructive criticism I give out when I write up reviews? Yeah, well... I'll be the first to say that there are several key points I always harp on that went totally unheeded in my own submission.

Meh.

I'll give it a shot, but I've always had trouble with other hosting sites.. I can't remember if this was the case with Rapid Share but I'll check it out ;)
I've a few hours yet I suppose. Hang tight!....

It worked! Sending to El HAACKerus now ;)
