Watch how you use that word man, there sincere artists, I promise, artists are all piling thier souls in thier work, just cause their soul sounds different then yours, dont assume its not there.
nah I didn't mean it like that, of course these guys are putting their souls into their music, I meant soul as in the genre kind of, well I don't really know what I mean but I didn't mean it like that

This is all starting to make sense to me. DMZ is dubstep. Now, you've got a lot of people making 'dubstep' that don't like dubstep.
That's it right there.
This honestly never occurred to me, because, frankly, it doesn't make a bit of sense.
If dmz is the only kind of dubstep then I think I might be in the wrong genre. Not like I dislike all of their stuff but still

I don't like about half the dmz stuff, but loefah is god.
for me he IS dubstep.
i wonder if the sound will ever progress back in that direction.
nearly ever tune he put out is insane gold to me.
He needs to get busy making some tracks, or releasing them or god knows what.

Yeah, all except Disco Rekah. That snare makes me want to pluck out my eyes and feed them to a stray dog.

I never really got Goat Stare that much either, until it just clicked when I was listening to it one night.
While we're on the subject of DMZ, Pop Pop Epic was a suprise hilight of R2S for me.

Someone had to say it.
I have loads of mates who are now into 'dubstep' but were not into long ago. The stuff they like, I would not even call Dubstep. When I show them some Oris Jay, Horsepower, Loefah and DMZ stuff they dont like it at all

You dont like that snare? its a weird one. It sounds like a snare layered with something metallic or a really short verb. It is a very unique snare.

Who knows. Its a sick track, who gives a fuck about the snare really.
If you look at the over all track its sick. The flow is mint. Getting it to flow like that from start to finish its kinda tricky.
Tap ur foot or nod ur head, it has rhythm!

If you don’t like Disco Reka there is something wrong with you :p
Turn the lights down, turn the dial to the max and sit back.

you know i've noticed something in general, not directing this at anyone here. just reading a few opinions in here got me thinking...
i know everybody got individual tastes and stuff, and "each to his own" and all that sort of ting.
but it seems that in dubstep (maybe edm in general) and hip-hop especially...you get people saying stuff like:
lol. people who can't name 1 wu tang song. yet there are 14 year olds with superior knowledge of iron maiden.
but among all the "rock kids" that i know, broken down into all their little sub generes, i NEVER hear one express distaste or a dislike for say, ac/dc or led zepplin or slayer or whoever
it's very weird. perhaps it just boils down to rock being a far more popular genre which is established....and dubstep's only 10 years old, only gaining mass popularity in the past 3 or 4 or whatever.
