deadly habit wrote:donations:
i usually don't do this, but my wallet is looking pretty barren these days and the yearly hosting bill is coming soon, so any donations people would like to make towards this and the production blog so i can keep it ad free would be appreciated. i set up a paypal just for this
mhigbee420@gmail.com
every lil cent would be appreciated so i don't have to go give handjobs in an alley to keep it running
as an incentive for donating i'm gonna offer a few tier levels:
2$/1 Euro/1 Quid - release of your choice in format you want from tentative or any tune from my commercial back catalog
8$/5 Euro/5 Quid - add to tentative promo list (all future digital releases for free, plus i'll toss you the back catalog)
20$/15 Euro/15 Quid - all of the above plus next 3 physical releases (have 2 cds planned for 2011 plus more)
i know it's not much to offer, but it's the one way i can think of to say thank you

I recorded 1 shots of my real drumset today. I recorded different velocity hits, rims and, cymbals. Tama drumset with 18 in kick drum (small i know so the kicks are a bit weak) all remo drum heads Sabian cymbals. Recorded with a MXL 2008 mic, Behringer Xenxyx1202FX mixer, into a Lexicon Omega interface. Not the best equipment but some nice sounds I think.
Demo:
Soundcloud
It's split into 2 packs:
RedRaven Drumset Pack - Drums ( 83 drum hits )
-Snare
-Toms
-Kick
RedRaven Drumset Pack - Cymbals ( 39 cymbal hits)
-Hi Hats
-Ride
-Crash
Enjoy!

yep, maybe you could upload the screen shots of the synth open with it so it can be recreated instead of opened

is it possible to download all files from these kinds of directories? might be a useful function for newbies starting out without nothing but the standard samples of their DAW.
BTW: BUMP

public service announcement:
since i've had some pms asking how to up stuff
http://tentativerecordings.com/sampleswapupload/
login: guest
pass: guest
for the html uploader, just navigate to the respective folder category you're upload falls under and up your zip (i don't think there is a tracking progress meter on it with times and speed, but i may be able to add that later on as this was a premade uploading system i adapted for this)
ftp is still the easiest/quickest way for those who know how to use it, just pm me for the details for that as it's admin file access
financial stuff: billing is coming up feb 10th and i don't think i'm going to have enough to cover it right away the way it works as i think my tax check isn't coming till round the 11th i think (trying to do a long term server deal vs a year deal) so it may be down for a lil bit come mid feb (dunno yet) but everything is being backed up as i may be moving to a more versatile hosting company and changing domain name to something shorter
as always any donations are appreciated and the same lil incentive system is going (ask any of the 3 people who have donated

)
admin stuff: spreading myself a bit thin with both time and finances between multiple things so if anyone else wants to step up and help out with the administration and coding side lemme know
also i'm debating offering say flashdrive or dvd-r backups for a small fee via mail to help with the hosting cost and those with metered internet or a slow connection as i think some of the files i've upped for starters are starting to get large if that sounds like something anyone would be interested in. for this it would be handy to have a few people in diff countries to do this to avoid say international shipping costs/mailing time. once again anyone interested in doing this get at me.
any other suggestions for improvement post in here.
cheers
Mike

Yo deadly, this thread is tldr

I've been meaning to read it for a minute, but uh, do you need like a front end for the sample swap? I could set it up in my free time (3.1 seconds a day).

If you can't see an obvious (and successful, I might add) attempt at pushing your buttons, you may have lost your way?

ok update i have entire site backed up atm and i have to pay to extend current hosting and domain, but i'm debating switching to a more accessible domain for a more wide public exposure and service for all genres
anyone who has anything to input lemme know as i'm gonna have to sink in a few hundred bucks to this regardless of direction i go

k just as a heads up i've decided to move domains and hosting companies, but have everything backed up so today more than likely will be the last day for a lil bit to snag some stuff as i migrate all the files
