it's not all about me or you though, what about all the people that spend there lives working all the time, and never do anything with their lives?
see beyond the self
a lot of people can't be arsed, we have a shit tonne of choice in a our lives and most people (without a criminal record) can go wherever they want in this world. There have been those with ambition/vision and those without for centuries, it is not a product some new 'controlled' world, it just shows the variety in human society. I agree with your point (too many people let their lives drift by etc) but you sound like a 15 year old crudely paraphrasing his first Alan Watts book...

And 9-5 job = slavery??
that's a pretty dumb thing to say mang
you'd prefer to work 9 to 5 rather than develop skills in something you're passionate about full time and just enjoy life? lulz
go for it pet

in truth though, every animal on this planet has to fight and scrape for survival to even exist. we bitch and moan about having to work, but it seems pretty light to me

fair enough if you dont believe that

but a dream is what you follow, work is everything you do along the way

Life =/= work

Otherwise there is no point in considering ourselves anything but animals.

i would have to agree. why shouldn't we work towards something? i'm not saying let's all become part of the machine, but even if you were living off the grid, through your own devices, you would still have to wake and work to get food, maintain your shelter, etc... we aren't entitled to anything just for being born, imho

unfortunately you have to work to be able to pursue such things - don't forget you are a student hackman, you're getting money loaned to you at the time being

really though, money is a good solution. it would be damn near impossible to barter for everything since the world is filled with so much specialized technology and skills. money is just a promissory note that directly equates to time spent working and your value as a worker, that you can later trade to another merchant for items.

imho

what would your solution be?

edit, and i meant money is a good solution for the exchange of work and goods, not solution to the problems of the world, as you see in my post
