@Vulvavibration - that slip inside is a cheeky bassline indeed, love that! however, reckon it could do with another melody or something come in to shake it up a bit over the course of it, just for variation. maybe the stuff that starts going on around the 7 minute mark, could feature earlier and more substantially?
@kind dub - clean production, very minimal, i really liked this!
@synpa - love the idea, reckon a lot of old dmz material would sound good redone at a lower speed. it needs something added, though im not sure what (least helpful comment i know!) maybe a bit more highs as someone suggested? maybe the drums jus need a lil fiddling with (production wise, i mean, the actual rhythm is sick)
@joeki - at first i wasnt sure about the syncopation, but actually this is lovely. maybe vary the bassline a bit, but tbh its not necessary, nice track!
@Ayatollah - nice vocal cut, nice track. reckonn the drums need some fiddling with, especially the kick, but otherwise its good.
@benq - as you say, sunshine music. very tinkly, and i do like a bit of tinkle in my music
heres my latest one its barely even house but its similar vibes, see what you think

(unfinished so far, that synth in the middle sticks out a bit...)

Hey just found this thread! lovingwhat I'm hearing some real fresh vibes...
I have listened to most of the tracks here (or bits of!) really interesting stuff....
to comment on previous by @ahier rather than everyone....
-Loving the deep kinda melancholy all those lil noises inspire introspection I think!
-Structure is tight, keeps changing in interesting manner... It is quite repetitive but sucks you in
-Strings are beautiful
-the 'classic' drum machines blend nicely with organic sounds
-It reminds me of Juke/footwork but in a chilled manner, maybe when the forest overuns the city....
if anyone wants to check out some stuff I bin doing (not as beautiful as that tho!)
I have stuck my latest tunes in a mix which can be streamed here

I like the melody, and it's got a nice sort of disco feel to it. However, you'll probably want to rethink the vocal samples and siren-type lead you have. With both of them going at the same time there is just too much going on in the track (especially since you're not using a sub-bass, which almost gives you a third melody). Generally you'll want to have only one or the other going at once, with some exceptions. I also don't think the nature of the bass you're using really fits with the aesthetic of the track, maybe play around with different sounds a bit.
I actually put in a sine wave and thought that it was at sub bass levels

it's not that easy to tell, i'm producing with headphones only... so i'll try to put the sine bass an octave lower. i'll play around with the rest that you said, to see if it works.

do you think you could specify a bit? I had a person telling me the drums were "thin" so I just EQed the hi-hats and threw on a "standard" bass drum EQ on the bass drum... I'm new to EQing, so any small tip would be most welcome
Just wanted to say that I absolutely love "wap de do dop de do" by the way. Awesome tune. And I only have my laptop speakers right now, but I'll definitely give your new tune a listen later on.

haha cheers, i really need to go back to wap de dop de do i listened to it on some proper monitors and there were some seriously empty frequencies in it. as for the drums, i think the kick sounded a bit... muddy maybe? i cant think of a better word to describe it, though it may just be down to personal taste, i though later in the song it clashed a bit with the bassline. maybe lo pass it a bit higher maybe? and you could maybe try shortening the length of some of the hats, not by much, bt just so they overrun each other a bit less? just suggestions to try, its up to you in the end, its a wicked tune nonetheless

I will do some feedbacking tomorrow (I promise!), as I've been working on this a while today and not done much else so need some rest from looking at screens.
This one's 'An American from Uganda'. Let me know what you think, would be much appreciated.

@Ayatollah
Diggin that sample choice, good groove, dont know about that transition, diggin the music around 2:00 and 2:30 minutes - maybe try to time-stretch some of the vocals saying "o baby give me one more chance" to get it more in time but great work.
@Ahier great ambience with the guitar and snares man like those hats too
@Benq sounds good but that cowbell is too loud for the mix, some pumping on the release of the build ups would be sweet
@snypadub that songs got some horror vibes to it for sure
@dubloke cool groove like the drums, reminds me of Miami
Heres two more

Thanks for the feedback guys!
here's some more feedback for you:
@ahier: interesting intro, reading the dark tower at the mo and, for some reason, this intro reminds me of it.
very chilled vibe and great bass line, needs some variation, actually quite like the pad/strings that come in though.
@Horus: that sample??? like the way the kick builds but could do with some weight behind it a little earlier,
love the toms (been playing with toms in my latest track) B line with the cowbell is lush.
The second drop is supreme, the bass works so well with the added room in the second part. Great track!
@Dubloke: that intro is insane, really trippy. The bass is lush, think the toms could come in earlier, as the main beat gets a tiny tiny bit repetitive, overall great track and unique! Big ups.
@marobtom: not 100% sure about the intro, although it is intriguing. Like the main pattern, purpley disco vibes
@kinddub: Drop it is sick. That kick really knocks you back. Great vibe to this track, feels like a real return to the great side of 80's-90's dance.
I have switched up my style a bit and come up with a new alias: SDB (Sounds Displaced in Bass) and this 110 bpm track is my latest offering. First time i've used my own vocals in a track too.

Here is a new one from us
It has a James Blake (CMYK Style) meets Chicago gospel kind of sound to it. We are pretty happy with it

@same'0: Really diggin this one. Overall a great job.
@nibzdub: Nice track, reminds me a lot of this Zomby tune though

@Reulat: interesting tune, I really like the part from 1:10 to 1:56. Keep it up, you've got something going there for sure.
This is a track I made recently. It's not even remotely house, but it's 130-ish and doesn't fit into the dubs section at all so I'll just put it up here. I wanted a really strong sub but I only have phones so I have no idea how it sounds on speakers.

You might be onto something there. My ears are kind of tired now so I'll give it a listen later and try to mess around with the volume a bit. I'll hit you up with the .wav when I reupload it.

also I reckon an 808 would go nicely on each kick when the bassline cuts out?

@Ayatollah - dig the overall feel. even though i listened to it on headphones, i have a feeling that the frequency of the bass would be too low for all but a high quality sub. anything below about 50Hz starts to get dodgy on mid-price-range monitors. I have Rokit Powered 6's and they have a cutoff of about 47Hz. I also feel like you need some more melody in the track. The vocal sample is fantastic, but you seem to be relying on it a bit too heavily to push the song forward.
@Dubloke - pretty good stuff. reminds me a lot of the new mosca track that was getting some love on here, "bax". that sort of pulsing bass with the garage drums is a nice combo and the vocal samples fit really well. the only thing i'm iffy on is the bass that comes in right after the break in the middle. sounds a little weird to me. overall, nice work.
here's one i just finished last night, i apologize (sort of) for the length, sometimes you just have to make those eight-minute journeys, amirite?
