Re: L.A Noire
well it was two days casual gaming, one day solid gaming, trying to take my time and be meticulous with it (until i realised how pointless it was), i know it wasnt a really short game but i remember games like gta etc taking a good week or two to complete. i got it on friday when it came out as well, and i havent played it since i finished it and dont think i will pick it up again, considering trading it in while its still worth a bit, is there anywhere that gives money for games? ive only got gamestation near me and i dont play games often these days so credit is not much good.wizeguy wrote:what would you consider light gaming?

and duval thats another thing that pissed me off as well, the interrogations could go from being intense and quite clever (very rarely though) to being utterly ridiculous and stupid. one minute you nail them with the perfect piece of evidence and catch a lie and the game is what you expected, then phelps just flips and starts shouting and you catch an obvious lie, use the appropriate evidence but it doesnt work and they tell you that you are an idiot and have no proof. he goes from politely greeting a grieving widow to shouting at her accusing her of being a murderer just because you chose to doubt something she said
all in all the game just awkwardly pushes you through the story, trying to fool you into thinking you are in control but something will always be there to remind you. i even accidentally let a suspect walk free (i assumed by not charging him i could question the other suspect again) and the game still helps you out by letting you chase him out of the police station and arrest him.

homicide:
>find body
>search body
>look for items
>find matchbox
>go to address
>question bartender
>get another lead
>chase him
>get another lead
>question him
>search house
>find murder weapon
>minor twist in story
>use phone box
>search a location
>find more clues
>interrogate
>rinse/repeat
im enjoying it, but homicide really annoyed me because every case just seemed the same. also that fat prick of a partner was just lazy and never did anything.
vice seems alright so far, how much is left after vice?

Re: L.A Noire
just arson after vice, i think
Re: L.A Noire
changed my mind about getting this, looks pretty 2D and pointless to get into after watching some gameplay videos.. heavy rain light

Re: L.A Noire
im onto arson now..seems pretty bland so far.
i find it annoying how it goes to a cutscene everytime you get near to your location though.
especially if you roll up in a pickup truck and reach your destination by doing a badass J-turn and the cutscene then shows you calmly parking up in a police car
the chatter from NPC's annoying aswell

Re: L.A Noire
i was sitting watching the news earlier, something about that italian guy suspected of those murders or something. they mentioned about finding a knife in his van as the reporter said 'which he claimed he had found and picked up whilst out walking' to which i imagined truth, doubt, and lie pop up on the side of the screen and had the urge to press X and doubt his clearly flaky explanation by switching on him and shouting random accusations and getting unnecessarily aggressive.
Re: L.A Noire
just got this... it's fun, but the interviews can be tough. it's lot less shootouts than i thought, which is cool with me... constant violence turns mind numbing. the game is very cerebral - and the facial animations and whatnot are amazing. only thing that annoys me so far is that you have a rooftop chase scene like every 10 minutes

This game is pretty weak still. Deaf one I'll never beat out of the sheer boredom/repetition of it all.
