Na it aint me man I wouldn't wear such scandalous glasses lol, Yeah iv been to Shoreditch but the point Im making is that people always stereotype, and the 'dubstep' heads are one of the worst ! Stereotyping is natural as you naturally judge people before you have even spoke to them, but some people take a bit too far by trying to doing it openly which I find small minded by trying to make jokes about what music people listen or what clothes they wear(Which i have done in this post lol)

I ain't gonna lie I do take the piss out of Hipsters lol 'cause they look so fn stupid and pretenscious but I know its wrong. First time I saw guys and girls in Shoreditch dressed like that I thought 'wtf is this shit lol'. Still fair play to them I mean it ain't my style but to be quite honest Shoreditch/Hoxton has always had a lot of pretensciousness to it so 2010 really ain't the exception!
Still we should all feel the love 'cause lets be honest the spirit of dubstep was originally about openess and not exclusivity and snobbery and I think that's great myself.

True Story:
Here in San Francisco, like many big cities, there are young dudes on the street trying to sell you their homemade cd's of their music. Usually the music is hip hop, and usually it's anywhere from boring to terrible; these young fellas are also usually black, but whatever. That's mostly irrelevant here.
So I'm with my wife & our daughter downtown to do some shopping and sure enough one of these guys first sees my wife (who's also black) and tries to play the race thing to shill his crap to her ("hey beautiful sister, come here and check out my music...")
However, she doesn't listen to hip hop - or much of anything electronic/beaty, for that matter - and so says "sorry, I'm not into rap."
Dude takes a look at me (wearing a field jacket and fatigues) and without missing a beat says, "Oh, but it's
Dubstep."
I started laughing hysterically. He wasn't expecting that kind of response I think. I shoulda asked him, "oh yeah? Name some of your favorite dubstep producers..."

this is also the case where i'm at. although it's becoming more known, if not so much enjoyed. a lot of people i know who are only coming across the sound in the past several months think its garbage....for reasons i don't need to get into i suppose lol...

Because he tried to switch up his sales angle based on an instant categorization of one of the people he was trying to sell it to: in other words, he tried to lie to sell his cd based on [what he thought] we listened to.

stereotype me as awesome!
but really, if its anything other than the median pop mediocrity that dominates the airwaves here, you obviously aren't trying very hard to be one of the "cool" people, so who cares what you're listening to...
its funny, there's more music (and entertainment in general) to choose from than ever before, yet more people get quickly funneled into the herd than ever before.
i stereotype people who don't listen to dubstep

where i'm at, there is no dubstep scene. i don't really have that problem. i see people talking about "hipster" this/that. well, i wear shoes with no shoelaces, dress slacks, button down shirts, and my glasses are prescription. i definitely smoke, but i've cut down until my finances are better. new records > *!
