maybe not better, but different, its more similar to FL granulizer than absynths if you were to compare them. absynth seems to add artifacts (can be good or bad) and cant seem to play back the original sound the way it was supposed to sound

hmmm... I like the sound of that. THX!

I'll be sound designing tomorrow, I think I'll reactivate absynth and give it a whackeroo.

are you using absynth 4 or 5? because 5 has some great added effects compared to 4, just to let you know.

HAAHHAHA! I don't know why I was so dense with this before. Key to learning any synth --> new sound. OMG, this thing is freeeeeky, and I'm only using one lfo and one osc.

:)

thers this sound mutater, which like totally randomizes the sound youre using, or can change it based on the selected things like 'timbre', 'source' and 'articulation' etc. there is also an added effect called aetherizer which essentially is a granular delay with added extras. aswell as different extra filters, including a supercomb, and a cloud filter (a mini aetherizer)

its a wicked synth when u used to the layout, and it isnt as complex as it looks :D

Lemme ask you a question, was starting with a patch in Absynth today, right before a wine rack fell and exploded, soaking all of my electronics in a pool of chardonnay (a sickening sight), and I wanted to modulate the amount (or depth) of an lfo with an envelope, but I couldn't find the lfo amount as a destination for the envelope. Is something like this possible? I assume it is, not really a far fetched routing?

i think you can do it by highlighting an envelope under 'available envelopes' and then click the greyed out lfo tab, then for each break point you add to that envelope you can change the depth of the lfo, I think. Sorry not in front of absynth at the moment.

Thanks man, that isn't making sense to me, but will look into it. :6:

You know the little nodes you can add to an envelope? if you highlight one when the lfo tab is selected you get the option to change the lfo depth, you can set different depth amounts for each node you add.

Okay, highlighting a node, and am setting the depth of the lfo in the envelope section. But I don't think that is the lfo I want to control. Seems like that is a simple lfo. I'd like to control the lfo1 in the lfo section, which seems to be more configurable.

Think I'm thinking about this in a traditional mod matrix format, and that is not the paradigm that absynth uses.

This is difficult, but I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful relationship. :)
