WERNER.
the cave of forgotten dreams is beautiful!
Cave of Forgotten Dreams blew my fucking mind. i'm convinced that's the earliest 'animation' 30-35,000 years ago fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Happy People (2010) is also exceptional. I have mixed feelings about Grizzly Man (2005) but I do recommend it. Looking forward to Hate in America (in pre-production currently).

recently experienced:
Last Train Home (2009)
b2b
Up the Yangtze (2007)
Poignant films. watching those b2b was emotional and very powerful.
Utopia (2013) By John Pilger
Now I know Australia is an apartheid state. They're many similarities in the USA in relation to Native Americans and African Americans, for example racist socio-econmic policy, ignorant indoctrinated population, apathy by those with eyes open and especially fear (which goes way back) of others.
If aliens are watching us they must be convinced we're insane. Not only are humanities most 'educated' people causing and speeding the trend toward suicide through self-inflicted environmentally catastrophe but the most 'educated' people exploit the other 99.99% needlessly through selfishly greedy socio-economic ploys based on entirely on the fallacy that there is not enough to go around. If questioned the wealthy and powerful respond with incarceration, a range of propaganda, violence, and terror. Although by far the most aggressive, overtly and covertly, are the wealthy and powerful in the USA, I don't think aliens would see much difference between humanity now and during the Dark Ages.
Favorably, the threat of real democracy grows. We are all one, we are all connected. Much Love!
This is AMAZING. It might even be better than For All Mankind. So much footage that's never been shown before... so many interviews that would've never been allowed before.
The first spacewalk mission may just have become my favourite adventure a human's ever been on... how they got back alive, I have no idea.

Life Story? I've seen the first one so far, really quite enjoyable. BABY MEERCATS! BARNACLE GEESE JUMPING OFF CLIFFS!
Cox's Human Universe series has been good too... first one was a bit "seen it already", second and third were excellent and the fourth just reminded me that I still can't properly get my head around General Relativity without feeling like my frontal lobe is going to detach.
Away from the science, the Beeb's had a nice little run of shows on the history of Gothic, recently...
Architects of the Divine by Dr Janina Ramirez. This woman's shows get better every year.
There's never a more welcome sight than a new Dr Alice Roberts doc. Slightly silly "Now I've got to sleep in the house" moment aside, this had some genuinely brilliant stuff in it. I've developed new respect for the little fucks.
My problem with anything wildlife related, it's always only a matter of time until you see some animal being torn apart. I know it's what happens but I don't particularly want to see it..

new Adam Curtis drops on Sunday, only on iplayer tho, no TV
Adam Curtis's new doc. He splits opinion but I thought this was brilliant. It's worth taking time to look into the background and how he took inspiration from The Wire etc. to try and bring these big and convoluted issues down to the human, emotional level. Not to mention the soundtrack is awesome.
Is on youtube as well if iplayer won't work for you.
