Nice one mate. Cheers for the helpTSH-Tim wrote:Just so you know i wouldn't worry about sound quality difference between the DJM & the Nuo4 because your never going to hear the difference on that system.dutty_switch wrote:I'm just bedroom DJing and playing at a few parties at the moment so my setup is very basic. Just using 2 x 1200s into my 600 and then running straight out into some Tapco S5 monitors on balanced XLR leads. I bought all my stuff as an ebay job lot for some stupidly low price but everything has been round the block a few times so I'm looking for a new mixer that just a bit tighter feeling. Got a good offer on this Ecler so thought I'd go for it.TSH-Tim wrote:May i ask what speakers / amp / system controllers your using within your set up ?dutty_switch wrote:I'm looking to upgrade from my DJM600 to an Ecler Nuo4 (not 4.0). I've read that the sound quality and general component and build quality of Ecler mixers are pretty good.
What are peoples opinions of them?
Thinking of eventually starting to use serator as a 3rd deck, so controlling it via the Ecler's midi channel would be a definite bonus.
The Ecler's are very nice mixer but when you start playing in bar & clubs your never see one again.... 80% of the time its a DJM so dont rely or build your sets around that mixer ie the midi side of it.
Good luck and enjoy it !

bump. any ideas about good mixer w/ echo FX if the Pioneer isn't up to scratch?

I bought a Vestax 07 Pro back around '98 or '99 for £800.00, and it was the best mixer on the market of it's type. Great design, good sound, ground-breaking crossfaders, and it's still working fine. In 2002 Vestax moved production to China, and people reported poorer quality. Also they kind of set their stall out as makers of scratch mixers, and I think turntablism has receded a little in popularity, plus other brands have come along that offer equally good products (Rane for example).
Have been considering a Pioneer purely for the echo effect and bpm counter; synching the echo on the channel you're cueing up with the channel playing alows for some excellent on-the-fly echo drops, and if used right, you can speed up the echoes to match a new bpm. Amazing fun to mix with. But now I'm reading here that Pioneer are digital only, or poor sound quality... are there any other mixers for vinyl DJs on the market with both an echo effect and an assignable BPM counter?
Re: Vinyl DJ's...what mixer do you use?
I was wondering...
Does anybody know of any mixers besides A&H that has that extra eq? the middle/high thing.
Preferably cheaper than the A&H one.
I have heard its priceless once youve learnt to use it.
I am on a American Audio MX1400 atm.
And the filters suck.

I really want an Ecler or Empath, they seem like such more serious mixers than any other company, although hardly any clubs have them.

You CAN use the aux gains as channel gains when you're running the aux output to your speaker/amps, but since the aux bypasses the filters, it kind of defeats the purpose of using the Xone 32 in the first place.murky21 wrote: there are auxillary gains right above the EQ's where they are supposed to be. Depending on what output you are using the gains on the back arent even in the loop. Allen and Heath dont leave mixers in production for 5+ years with 'stupid' issues
I've got used to the gains on the back. It's fine, I just use the (ultra-precise) channel faders instead.
