Fuck you! I'm not saying techno is bad, i'm saying that rappers/rnb/hip-hop that use techno is shit. IDK where ur from but here in Merica, thats all they play on the radio. Gets kinda old
its not really techno though is it? more electro house, or maybe even tech house. its like that typical thing when someone who doesnt listen to electronic music, thinks that everything electronic is techno.
My bad, I didn't know some prick was gonna ride my dick about technicalities. Get the fuck out

Got asked to play some real rap, like Lil' Jon while I just dropped 'What's Golden' by Jurassic 5.

well.. to be honest i would never get into the mood if i'd hear dubstep in a pub with shitty speakers without bass.
so i can understand people not getting into the vibe.

Does that even exist?!

I agree with the request
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

i wouldnt even consider the tunes to be mixed down at all. a deaf person could mix down better. also there is NO sub bass, therefore mt edan is not dubstep

i think ive began to understand why all these dumbass people request absolute garbage tunes.

they can't dance to music unless it is a tune that their familiar with.

plain and simple

are people that ignorant???

Weird tho, generally everyone responds good to sub-bass on a massive rig. Unless it's a house party or sthg i don't really get it

end of the day its because the dj is seen by many to be a jukebox rather than someone that will introduce you to music and maybe even educate

everyone thinks they know everything already and their taste in the same 5 songs is such because those 5 songs are the best not because theyve only heard those 5 songs

for me its the vague insulting interactions that get me...if i havent got something thats cool and unless its a princess they tend to understand...but its when they come up and literally tell me how to do my job that it gets annoying...

like when they speak for everyone there and tell me the sort of thing i should play

haha i always make a point of asking every dj i get down to dubkulture to play mt eden 'cos its my birthday' just for a laugh

you know what though i dont get where modesteps popularity comes from because not once has anyone requested 'it'

People only want to listen to music that has been fed to them by Radio 1. Anything else is just brushed off because they don't know it/haven't heard it before.

If you just look at La Roux when that was first released. If i had played that before it was on radio people would still be like 'ahh we can't dance to this blah blah blah' but as soon as Radio 1 picked it up and it got a lot of airplay people were going mental for it.

It's pretty sad that people are happy to just listen to music that is given to them rather than looking for good music and educating themselves.

Was back in 2003. Spent the best part of my whole 2hr set being bugged by some girl asking me repeatedly to play Sean Paul, despite it being a primarily breakbeat/prog/tech set. I told her politely that I didn't have any with me. Towards the end of the set, she again started bugging me asking for Sean Paul. I remembered I'd bought a Botchit & Scarper bootleg of a Sean Paul tune earlier that day that was still in my bag, so put it on...

Her - Can you play some Sean Paul?
Me - This IS Sean Paul
Her - Yeah, but not this one

A lot of the above has happened to me, too. One to add:
"Do you have any black people music?" was asked while I was playing a Joker tune.

Most of the time when I get requests like these, I'll just tell them the person playing after me has everything they've asked for and more.

A fucking men

Loads and loads and loads and loads of people I know listen to the exact same music which bugs me off. Cant yall just find more songs to play? Stop listening to the radio 24 hours a day for once and just dig all around. A friend who was digging the shit out of metal like Children of Bodom and all that, said to everyone he can't stand rap at all - six months on and he's blasting out Akon, Taio Cruz shit that annoys me because of what he used to be. Doesn't give a fuck when I say, like, there's a new Slayer album...Weird shit.

i would say that too.
It's about dropping a track at the wrong speed, and it sounding better than the real thing.
