It would cover everything from basic synth controls to fuckin, other stuff.

Re: Serious time, folks.
I have, but the information is spread out everywhere.
If we had a straightforward HERE IT IS guide, then people would have way more knowledge, and wouldn't need to ask as much noob questions.
But of course, my good idea is going to get shit on because no one here can accept anything.

just having some fun at your expense man
poking fun at noobs is a tradition, (generally done at ones we think are worth a damn and may contribute)

Yeah, the signal to noise ratio is off balance. I still try to pop in semi-regularly and contribute when I can but there does seem to be an influx of people that just signed up two months ago and already have a thousand posts. Not trying to offend anyone if this is you, but you don't have to post every single thought that comes into your head. It's getting harder to weed through.

Re: Serious time, folks.
I like the idea of newcomers having to wait a certain amount of days or maybe have to rack up atleast 5-10 responses on other peoples threads before being able to post their own. And while they are in this state, they should also have things popup on the page to get them to read the forum rules and whatnot...I definitely dont want blinken seizure lights on the text for all users...Ive read that stuff and I dont want to have to squint at the forum to read it lol.

Skimmed through all the opinions here. Personally, I think mods clamping down on the rules already in place would help a lot. Have to admit I always kind of felt like...why aren't these super basic question threads getting locked?
I'm not against the idea of having a wait period to be able to post. I think a week is a long time. I think something like one or two days might be the right amount of time. If in fact DSF is being inundated with the instant gratification/lazy folks who want some magical quick fix answers I think a 24 hour lock on their ability to post will steer them off--but anyone who has a real question, really wants to be a part of Production will come back in a day when they are able to post.
Sub forum I'm unsure of...I don't like the idea of having to "earn" access, but I wonder if an advanced production forum with unrestricted access would fix anything.
I've been telling friends that my production abilities has jumped leaps and bounds during the small time I've been gathering knowledge here on DSF. I think there have been some interesting discussions lately (for someone at my level anyway), but they do get bumped down by all the "how i make whatever" threads. Clamp down on those threads mods! ;p

1 or 2 days isnt enough imo. when i first came here, i was the same way and i wouldnt have given up after 2 days. I think the limit shouldn't be in the amount of time, but in contribution to existing threadsfragments wrote:Skimmed through all the opinions here.
