Can't watch that link right now, I'm at work lol!
But I can guarantee that he is just recording himself singing something and then he takes his recorded vocals into Ableton and then ending up cutting phrases and vowels from the original clip. Then you arrange the clips you cut from the sample into a cool rythm/melody and voilá - Skrilly-glitch vocals!

Further vocal processing include chaning pitch to the samples, playing some clips in reverse, Sonic Charge Bitspeek och similar vocoder typeish plugins for the robot voice he is using sometimes, and ofcourse small amounts of reverb and delay.

Nothing special, but sounds fucking awesome if you do it right!


Edit: Yup... that's just some good ol' creative use of the cutting tool. I think a plugin just cripple you in a situation when you want to do a similar thing as old Skrillex!

Spent a bit of time in FM8 trying to recreate the growl at the end of "Reptile".

No resampling, everything done in FM8. I'm kinda convinced that Skrillex doesn't resample as much as we think.

dude let me get that patch!!! i can make nice growl sounds in FM8 i just cant get alot of movement in them. u think u could share?

For you guys having problems learning fm8, I would suggest either Blue or Operator. Both are great FM synths and are much easier to understand imo.
