It's a great watch, he talks about his projects like 'music form a tree', the drycleaners tune, the physical modelling doublebass etc.
Re: Sound Design // FM Synthesis // Foley // Field Recording
Wow, exactly. There's too much stuff to learn here! And I'm definitely running out of time!

For those who have an iPhone and are into field recording check this: http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/fire/
Small review with some audio examples here: http://designingsound.org/2012/08/fire- ... -recorder/ and here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5qvzHKsieI
Haven't used it myself as I don't own a iPhone, but the examples on designingsound sound pretty good considering it's been done with a phone. Plus the app's just $5,99.

I checked this out a while back and although the printed specs sound good, the customer reviews have consistently not inspired enough confidence for me to try. If it goes on sale for even lower I might give it a go, but am currently happy using SpaceSampler for this purpose... it's FUCKING AWESOME.Project EX wrote:For those who have an iPhone and are into field recording check this: http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/fire/

Only costs $0.99, has tons of cool features and integration (dropbox, soundcloud, email, clipboard) and gets pretty regular updates/upgrades... the dev was quoted as saying he wanted to make "the Instagram of sound," which is kind of a cool concept imo. Been using it for field recording street musicians the last few months and have been blown away by how good some of the results were (sax player in the subway station with a little tape echo =

Goes free for a day or two all the time as well, but even for 99 cents it's a fookin' steal.

That SpaceSampler app looks nice, need to get myself a iPhone. $.99 is as good free. Thanks for sharing!
