.
That's the beauty of it, a scrappy fumbled winner off some chaps knee can be infinitely more powerful than a skillful sizzling 40 yard volley, despite the latter being a greater showcase of talent.

Never understand why American sports revolve around such ridiculous scorelines. Basketball is literally end-to-end non-stop scoring, totally removing all emotion from a play coming off. Nothing compares to a stadium full of fans erupting to a last minute winner.
Where is the last minute winner in a 0-0 game? I personally enjoy soccer, except for when games go to a draw. If we're going to spend hours watching a game, we want to see somebody win, not take a 0-0 draw and call it a day.

Making chicken shit attempts to fool refs into thinking your injury bears merit is such a pitiful move to give you the advantage. In ANY sport.
Holy shit, I didn't think about how much the new rules are going to fuck him over. Fuck yeah :corndance:

I like my football, but much prefer to play it than watch it, even if it's my own team playing. I just feel no connection or sympathy with the modern day footballer.

Almost like if you grew up going to watch the NFL with your dad every Sunday?

Whats wrong with a draw? A hard earnt draw can be just as satisfying as a win, depending on the calibre of the opposition.

I mean some of the best matches last year finished as draws..........it all counts in a season.

This is North America bro, we want winners and losers. Personally, I enjoy soccer, and can be satisfied with a draw when there has been goals scored. But I think you missed my main point, that people here don't want to see a 0-0 game. To people over here, that should be more of a loss for both teams, not a draw.

Do you think British people like seeing a 0-0? Very VERY rarely, there is an exciting 0-0, one example for me was Birmingham v Chelsea a few years ago, real edge of the seat stuff, but to give it some context, Chelsea were expected to run rampant, we had chances, they had chances, both teams coming close, but a really good game of football.

In general, football fans can be happy with a 0-0 because of the points gained, etc. etc., but it's not like they consider it entertainment.

Spose it stems back to what I was saying earlier, as a neutral spectacle I'd agree football really isn't all that. Many if the MLS continues progressing to a competitive standard people over there would get more involved and the love will build from there.

I know what you mean... I am sentimental when it comes to local working class heroes representing their hometown but football is more about the athleticism and the spectacle, which I've never found that interesting to begin with (though the very few times I have watched a good game at the stadium it was a little bit special).

All televised sport is shit but rugby is the most watchable because nobody fakes an injury and there's sometimes a fight.

The amount of analysis that goes on of televised sports is depressing. People pay more attention to televised sport than they do politics.
