I want this thing, but it doesn't work on intel macs

can you even buy that anymore? Antares has some badass stuff but its sooooo expensive.
It's discontinued and no longer supported.
I had to beg Antares to sell it to me.
I can put you in touch with the sales rep who sold it to me, but they put me through the ringer before they took my money.
they wanted to be sure my system was compatable, etc...
$99 and not a single regret

I just found myself staring at the fronds dancing rather than producing anything
yes, do that often. it's like sound design for lazy people. what sonic charge needs to do is make a reverb based on the one synplant uses

abstract panning with fast rate panomatics, hard pans and sample delays so sounds sound like they come from outside the sepaekrs...

logic ensemble, lfo 1 and 2 intensity all the way up, lfo rates really low, mix all the way up. Lately I've started turning the intensity down and the rate up a bit.

I use NI razor for almost all of my synthesis. The thing is extraordinarily versatile for the price. Also in almost every one of my tracks i will through a reverb unit on a return track and then send there for reverb to conserve CPU time.

Yeah Razor and Prism are both pretty damn sweet for being Reaktor instruments. I've made some cool shit with them. I love innovative synthesis styles, I find it's easier to get away from the "analog oscillator into a filter" sound.
I notice I do a lot of Fabfilter Pro-Q>Analyzer>pre-eq
Sucks not having a set of nice monitors to trust. Even still, when you have a project playing and you're slapping on an eq it's nice to see it in the analyzer. Especially when you're just doing a quick pre-mix highpassing things, "Oh shit, fat mound of bass on this sample...<chop>." Makes things go a bit quicker instead of having to solo each track.
