Fuckin hate when people do that. I was playing 'Eat Em Up L' by LL Cool J and during the chorus (which is just a chant) my mate says sarcastically "Wow, this guy's a lyrical genius." It's a catchy hook you tool.

I rate Rocky, but the latest video/tune cocaine and purple kisses is dull and out of tune. Not my thing at all.

yeah, i didn't mind it, it just kind of seems more and more like he's aiming for that lana del ray / tumblr crowd who wanna see people in fancy clothing do drugs in slow motion and all that shit, which is fine, it's just it seems like asap might eventually be all style and hardly any substance, hopefully not.

im in two minds. Im still on board but got a nasty feeling he already isn't as good as 6 months/ 1 year ago.

Classic hiphop problem >> nothing changes someone like money.

Give a young hungry MC an (alleged) $3 mill contract and theres no chance he is gonna be the same person/ rapper he was before the deal

Staying optimistic, but hope he doesn't become a victim of his own success. Look forward to catching the album

Hands on the Wheel is a certified banger, absolutely love this tune.

Peso was fucking sick as well. I do like a few of his tunes, but yeah i think the constant battering/sponsorship/promotion by Vice and Fact isn't enhancing him at all. Far far too fashionable.

Yeah, just saw that happen to Kendrick.

What, how?? Don't tell me you're one of those people who think he sold out on Swimming Pools...

Lamar definitely did not sell out on Swimming Pools. The song is maybe not quite as deep as some of his others but he's still rapping about real stuff. I think it's the T-Minus beat that has folk claiming he sold out when really, he didn't. Cartoons & Cereal is on that aggy "trap" style yet folk were all over it :corntard:

Anyway, I like him more now than ever.

The only weak record Kendrick's put out so far was that one with Dre. He even made a 2011 Game tune sound relevant.

Yeah no doubt, the way he manages to strike a balance between commercial and club appeal and deep lyrics on that track is actually genius.

Also agreed about the record with Dre, but we all know Dre's fallen off hard in the past few years

Im not interested in money or talking about it (no provocation intended).
I think he just spits with less passion and the complexity and 'charm' has been thrown out the window.
I never paid too much attention to cartoon & cereal either btw. For me its more about the potential he has shown on a few tracks and I had thought he would raised the bar technically, and if we were lucky- beatwise - seeing as a bunch of producers would have thrown their most precious stuff in his direction.
Its an acceptable album, but nothing special if you compare it with a few years ago.

Regarding the new rocky album , it just shows how big a part Clams played in the previous work. Its a bit basic and sounds rushed. Few ok beats, no doubt.

Long Live A$AP beat is sick. Skrillex tune is average, I really don't like the production on it.. I try to keep open minded when it comes to Skrillex cause he seems alright and I think the hate is unfair.. but his music is shit imo.

Also Fuckin' Problem will be a hit I reckon, one to be ruined by everybody overplaying it. I've already seen loads of people putting "I like bad bitches thats my fuckin' problem" fb status' followed by a load of over the top praise.

I'm a little disappointed with some of his choices of collabs.. That Rihanna tune is absolute horseshit and, as previously mentioned, not a fan of the Skrillex tune. Danny Brown is doing things properly with Darq-E-Freaker & The Bug collabs.. would have liked Rocky to been on a similar tip of collabs. I guess they don't sell as well as Skrillex & Rihanna lol.
