Been starting recently with Biome - Persepolis -> Icicle - Acid Step, works quite well.

Kahn - Way Mi Defend into Commodo - So Clear. The drums just flow into each other perfectly.

May have to try this. I have trouble mixing Dooms Night, due to those long passages without drums.
I need a new copy as well, bought mine second hand a few years back and it was already fucked!

Yeah the bit without the drums can fuck me over too, try to mix it without using touching the platter and just use the pitch control it becomes easier to keep in time
