Not sure, the cliffsides were very unstable and still prone to shearing off without notice due to the heat.

i understand what you guys mean -- there are tourist predators who can come off really aggressive (especially as a female...!). we stayed in a riad in the medina but in the opposite corner from the big square and it was a lot better out there -- really friendly people who were eager to help us and cut us deals rather than harass. next time i'd like to go to a smaller, coastal town i reckon. heard good things about essaouira.

yes you have to know the someone form there to go, if you go as a tourist with out knowing anybody is pretty stressful and you take the risk of having a bad time. If you want to come this summer to my village you are welcome pete

The guy I climbed Toubkal with was going on to Essouira after we'd done. He said he loved it, proper hippy vibe and a really
good place to be. I believe there is some sort of music festival around June time that he is going back for.

Yes, here;

No alcohol whatsoever. Only time I saw some was at the refuge the night before we did the summit, one of the other parties had a bottle of spirits they were sharing. Had to wait until we got to Marakkech and found a 'western' style hotel that served beer.

Depends on which part, I personally fucking hated the old side becuase I had a shit experience.
You cant just "walk" around the the market, Its like a labarinth. I mean I would not have been surprised to find a minotaur running about it that much of a mess.
Now Ive walked around Bombay and shit so im not scared of being "lost" or loads of locals or whatever
So we walked and walked and it was intresting to see regular life until we realized we were totally fucking lost.
"Oh we will just get a taxi"
Except there was no taxis as according to the map we are atleast a mile deep in the maze.
So some old dudes comes up and says hey I can lead you back "this is the locals place so its not so great for tourists"
Hes giving us a lovely chat and super nice until we get to the I guess 2nd "ring" from the exit and he suddenly up and demands the equiv of £40 for the pleasure.
We were like "u wot?" I mean sure id have given the guy a tenner had he not asked but wtf?
Then 3 guys around 30 appear out of nowhere and start demanding we pay the guy, I held off for abit then it started getting super intense so I just gave the guy £20 and legged it.
I was raging the whole walk back to the french quater
Also I fucking hate "tat" you think "oh thats a sick painting! ill buy that" till you realise every third stall has it and all the jewelery is cheap fake shit.
New part and French quarter are lovely though. Eve saint luarens home/garden is super nice and I had some amazing food there.
edit: Oh shit I never even put any photos of my trip in here! Ill get on that tonight.

yh in the mountains is very difficult but i guess that if you are in the mountains of morrocco is not for drinking alcohol, anyway everyone there drinks alcohol in every town if you ask them they sell you illegal alcohol or even they are shops for just alcohol
