could i do a Koffing/Weezing combo? :corndance:

if i rmbr right in the series they are together in the episodes and the samples would be much better because they actually say "coughing and weezing"

Fuck! I really wanted to to do Gengar! I had so many ideas bouncing around, then i saw the list!

:baby:

I guess i'll take Marowak. I have some interesting ideas based on the old games.

I'll do a gengar one too though, as i have just read the rules.

Also, what a cool idea!

I still don't know if I can take a second one, but if I can I'd like to take a stab at grimer.

P.S - A month for lets say... 50 producers (about all we have in here who are active) to make a 2 + minute track seems like a HUGE feat in itself (about 10-15 will actually make tracks); I say let this project run all of summer to compile it during the Autumn for a Winter release. That gives enough time for people really interested in the project to go down the list and be 100% sure we have caught them all!

I'd hate to see a "PRODUCERS TAKE ON ORIGINAL 151 POKEMON but theres only tracks for 20 of them"
Lege man you beat me to it. I was pretty much up all night thinking about this, and yeah, if I'm gonna put this together, I'm gonna do it right.

And that was what I had planned as far as evolutions go. I think it should be up to the artist to decide how they wanna do it though; either they can do a progression of three tunes, or do VIP type-things. Either way, yes, I I believe the same artists should do the chain for each Pokemon.
legend4ry wrote:This'll go down a storm on Reddit; we might even be able to set up a donation drive to pay for mastering if enough people are interested in it.
Oh that a boy!

<3 this idea SO much.
1) Alright, I'll get on this, but I'll need everyone's FB pages.
3) Sure man, do as many Pokemon as you want!

Yup, but you'll need to do Tentacool as well

You'll need to do Weezing as well.

Brilliant idea. I'm up for the work during the summer, compile in the autumn, release in the winter schedule.

This isn't some sort of productivity excercise, I want to give my best and full attention to these tracks. And tbh i'm not gonna be able to do that until exams are over.

Nice one internetslavemaster.

Just thought I'd mention:

Regularly check the original post.

I'll update it often with new information, and not to mention that I keep getting asked questions that are answered on the first post.

I've decided that this effort will go all the way and we will try to get all 151 Pokemon. Not sure if DSF alone is capable of this, the only other real music site I visit is IDMforums and I'm sure they'd love a part of this too so I'll post this there as well. If anyone knows any other sites, please PM me and we'll get them on board too.

And also, with going for all 151, I've decided that if you are to do a Pokemon in an evolutionary chain, you have to do all the Pokemon in that chain. How you do it is up to you; you could do 3 different versions of 1 tune (each getting progressively better/aggressive or what have you), or you could do three separate interlinking tunes. It's up to you, we just want some level of cohesiveness.

I'd like to release it on September 28th, 2013 (The 15 year anniversary of the early Pokemon games), but that release date is far off. Then again, that gives us plentyyyy of time to get a bunch of kick ass tracks and do this properly. Regardless of the release date, we are pushing the Due Date far off by a few months or maybe even a year or so. We'll see.

I'd like to think we are doing something artistic here, not just something based on novelty, hence I've decided to step up the game a little bit. I'm sorry if this turns anyone off to the idea, but I really think we can do this and we can do it well. This project will take a lot of effort and communication between all of us, so I'm working on some sort of means of mass communication. We've gotten suggestions towards a Facebook group, but not all members have Facebook. Maybe a SoundCloud group?

I also think I'll make a website for this project so that people across all forums can get information from a central location.

Either way, thank you guys for the warm response, I'm genuinely excited about this! Please bear with me these next couple days while I attempt to get everything up and going.

Let's make our childhood selves proud! :corndance:

Loving the enthusiasm and ambition. Wouldn't be making music if it weren't for the video game classics from my childhood. I'll be giving this my all.

A centralized place would be handy since we're possibly going to be linking up with other production forums. Maybe we should just make a free message board for it? like ezboard.com? The problem with making a sound cloud group is that while that allows up to toss up our songs it's not the best for messaging. Also, you might want to try your hand at glitchhopforum.com and dogsonacid.com, I'm pretty sure we'll get some fresh blood in that way.

Yeah, makes me really happy/surprised. Figured only a few people would be on board with this, it hasn't even been 24 hours since I've brought it up and we're already talking about doing all 151 and getting it mastered and stuff :4:

But yeah man no problem, which one do you wanna do instead?

Yeah, a forum would actually be much better then just a website. I'll get started on it ASAP.

Sorry man, there's so much going on I must have lost ya!

Yes, you can go for Marowak/Gangar, but the way the rules have changed means you have to do Cubone, Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar.. (You've gotta do evolutionary chains.)

Do you just want Hypno/Drowzee instead? They are open :)
