maybe YOU could explain, what you find so refreshing about his sound? i got 3(?) of his records and i like the tunes, but i don't get the hype about compa and understand what's supposed to be that special about his stuff. sure, he's got his distinct sound, but many artists got that.

also
I find "the dubstep sound" very generic with very few pushing it's boundaries, which is what made the scene new and exiting in the firs place.
The guy is obviously doing something right, he's got nearly 2 pages of people moaning.
I do not see another thread on this forum with so many people moaning about how good or poor someone's track is. In fact in this music forum there are tons of threads no one even reads or comment in. Find it funny that one of the most popular threads on here this week (it is only wednesday) is people moaning 60 posts infact. ASC has a new album out that is excellent and has less than half the posts and half the views. So you cant say it's based on the quality of some ones music alone surely.
if many are saying it then surely it must be true?
these are very weak arguments. in fact, no arguments at all...
None of these things are arguments, they are me stating my opinion. You lot are all happy to moan about something, but when i do the opposite i have no argument. But yes, it's boring and he shouldn't of done that because I feel it's sacrilegious are surely the best arguments going. Ah makes perfect sense now.
with all due respect, i expected a bit more than that from you.
1. you still didn't tell me, what you find that special about his sound. and i simply wanted to know that out of interest and not to prove you wrong. like i said, i like his tunes, but i can't see how he "pushes the boundaries" any further than someone like, let's say, commodo or j:kenzo. both of these got their own sound too but nobody's talking about them bringing something fresh to the scene.
2. i think you're over-reacting a little bit by complaining about the so called 'moaning'. people don't like the tune and voice their opinion about that. and apart from one comment, there was nothing personal said about compa. this happens on this forum every day and nobody cares. but as soon as it's about an artist you like or signed or know personally, you (not only you alone) feel the need to defend him, when he wasn't even attacked.
3. i think the reason this criticism is causing that much tension is because it's about a respected artist (similar things happened in coki and kromestar threads in the last time). if it was a crappy remix by some youtube producer there would be only troll comments or no comments at all, you're right about that part. so the fact that this tune is actually discussed, is giving credit to compa, if anything.
4. i'm not 'moaning' and i'm not argueing for the sake argueing. also, i was never critisizing your opinion at all, i just asked you to explain it. you don't have to, if you don't want to. but please don't read things into comments, that were never said. :w:

and i don't know why this thread should be locked. let's be honest, 50% of the topics on this forum get off-topic from time to time and nobody does anything about it. if you don't care, don't read, simple.

there's bound to be a backlash when someone gets built up way over their stature like compa has. although there's a bit of a weird predilection on here for anything that isn't 100% positive to be perceived as rude or personal there have been a couple of dodgy comments on here. but it's difficult when you're talking about grey areas and things that are easily confused.

like everyone on that system post a while back asking for him to be the special guest. WTF? the guy obviously works hard and loves what he does and you have to respect that. and it is not his fault how other people cast him, good or bad. but special guest at system? bit far. the awd and especially the root remixes are honestly diabolically generic imo even if mala does like them. he has better tunes of his own devising.

a little bit of hype is a dangerous thing

with all due respect, i expected a bit more than that from you.

Haha what do you mean? I'm presuming there is a complement in there. (that's how it reads to me)

1. you still didn't tell me, what you find that special about his sound. and i simply wanted to know that out of interest and not to prove you wrong. like i said, i like his tunes, but i can't see how he "pushes the boundaries" any further than someone like, let's say, commodo or j:kenzo. both of these got their own sound too but nobody's talking about them bringing something fresh to the scene.

I love how cinematic Will's tunes are, very intricate in the production with loads of little subtleties making them more than just a beat per say. Obviously I had a connection with the tunes or else I wouldn't of released them. I think the other guys you mention have enough of a rep and support from in the scene, if you have followed me you will know I always try and do the best I can to try and support and bring new artists I am feeling through, so will chime in if I feel people are being unduely negative.

2. i think you're over-reacting a little bit by complaining about the so called 'moaning'. people don't like the tune and voice their opinion about that. and apart from one comment, there was nothing personal said about compa. this happens on this forum every day and nobody cares. but as soon as it's about an artist you like or signed or know personally, you (not only you alone) feel the need to defend him, when he wasn't even attacked.

All I said was I thought his root remix was decent and his tunes better than a lot of others.

3. i think the reason this criticism is causing that much tension is because it's about a respected artist (similar things happened in coki and kromestar threads in the last time). if it was a crappy remix by some youtube producer there would be only troll comments or no comments at all, you're right about that part. so the fact that this tune is actually discussed, is giving credit to compa, if anything.

I agree

4. i'm not 'moaning' and i'm not argueing for the sake argueing. also, i was never critisizing your opinion at all, i just asked you to explain it. you don't have to, if you don't want to. but please don't read things into comments, that were never said. :w:

Unfortunately the nature if text on a screen is it can be interpreted however the reader wishes it to be. I could say "have a nice day" and if the reader could interpret that to be sarcastic and me saying they are a moody gut who needs to cheer up, when in fact I just said "have a nice day".

and i don't know why this thread should be locked. let's be honest, 50% of the topics on this forum get off-topic from time to time and nobody does anything about it. if you don't care, don't read, simple.[/quote]

To be fair, if you do know me I'm a sarcastic antagonist but what I dont like is seeing or what appears to be mob mentality. Regardless of my relationship with an artist it. seems Will does get almost picked on? Kind of similar to Skream a few years back, Of course this is due to his prominence in the scene and I'm totally stoked I am able to not only put out his tunes but also remix one of them. If all the artists I'd released music by had this much attention I'd be buzzing and proud I was able to help spread there music. If you haven't go check them and hear what I've up out, I'm vey much trying to keep things forward thinking and active in this scene. Well Id like to think so.

P.s. I'm typing from my phone so anything off is because I can only see half a line of text. Forget passing negative comments listen to music and be proactive and positive In This rather small scene, or check my blog http://be-1ne.blogspot.com I out a load of freebies up there for you all!

I'm out peace

What?
